hi flossie...nice to meet you. :D

nefopam is also known as Acupan..
....here's a wee snippet about it off the netdoc website

'Nefopam hydrochloride is a non-opioid medicine. The mechanism of how it works is not fully understood, however it has a strong painkilling effect and it works very quickly. Nefopam is a useful alternative to other painkillers that act on the brain, as it has less side-effects than opioid medicines and is more effective than non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). '

so hope you get a good result from it. as it's very tiring being in constant pain

hi. i.ve now run out of nefopam and i can honestly say take they didn't make alot of difference to the pain and swelling situation. after the first couple of days the pain was just the same as before and my hands swelled up over the weekend so no change there.

still trying to get this sorted but as the swelling had gone down by the time i got an appointment to see my doc, all he would give me was the naproxen again which i can't take as it upsets my stomach. therefore, i'm not on anything at the moment and consequently in pain. i'm beginning to get so fed up with this.

rant over. hope everyone is ok

A week may not be long enough, flossy, sometimes these things take a while to kick in. Your GP doesn't sound very clued up about these matters - have you ever seen a rheumatologist? I missed the beginning of the thread 'cos I was away - what sort of arthritis do you have? I'm a PAer myself, currently taking naproxen, humira and oral steroids. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

not seen a rheumatologist yet as my doc hasn't referred me. not diagnosed yet. doc thinks it is fibromyalgia but not sure.
