Hi Jan, just wishing you well again in case you log on after finishing the hoovering!!

The restrictions are a bind, but they are a means to an end!! I looked back over my posts and I had a shower at just under 4 weeks ... I used various paraphanalia to get in as the shower is over the bath and it was HEAVENLY!! If you have a walk in shower - it could be even sooner.

Looking forward to hearing your rehab posts.

This time tomorrow - you'll be on the road to recovery.

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

I wish you all the very best and hope you wake up in less pain straight away, like some do, and recover really well.

Look forward to hearing how you are doing.

Hileena, nothing is worse than a scooter: it says abandon hope all ye who ride on here. I adore my Micra but she doesn't solve the problem of pain when walking! I shall stick to my crutches for the time being, but it is demoralising knowing that there is nothing but further deterioration ahead. A scooter will be a blessing, but it will also represent the end of the road, so to speak; then I'll know I've lost the battle. On the other hand, staggering home from the pub trying to control four limbs (2 real, 2 metal) will be a thing of the past - slip her into first and away we go! Beep-beep!

Anyway, morning quietwaters, I hope all is well and that it all went smoothly. I expect you are sore today but that will pass - all things do. Good luck with the exercises - have they gotten you out of bed yet? I expect they have! Remember to behave. DD

    Hi DD,
My Micra doesnt solve my pain either....but are you not in pain when you walk and use crutches......I am {without crutches} but like tomorrow for instance going to the metro center....I wont be in pain going round there because I'll be on my scooter and it will be much more enjoyable....Anyway...Lightwater.....thinking about you

Hello quietwaters, I hope all is well and the post-op grogginess is going/has gone. Have they had you out of bed yet? I expect so - I'm amazed they don't get you to walk out of the operating theatre sometimes, they are so quick off the mark! Take care and behave! DD

    Hi Jay,

hope they are giving you enough painkillers and that you are managing to get 40 winks inbetween the nurses taking your obs, dolling out meds, dracula visits, tea round, other people's buzzers ... just as you are nodding off etc

How are those early steps going - gets easier day by day.

Looking forward to hearing all your news.

You'll be out of there before you know it!
