I bought in a sale a tub chair a year ago and wish to reupholser it.
I am only beginning my sewing empire therefore no way am I going to try to sew covers and stuff.
Do you think I could just use the good old staple gun for the walls of the tub and then phart around trying to sew the cushion seat cover?

I don't see why not. Phrankly I've never tried such a phantastic job but nailing stuph to the phrame really should cause any phatal problems. Phight on you phabulous woman! Just watch out for your phingers. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Have you tried to Google to see what it it comes up with??0

DD, you have just made me scream and shriek with laughter and I am still phlippin' giggling.
Seriously, I upholstered bench seats in a dining area for years with a mixture of staples, glue and sewing, so can't see why it shouldn't be applied to a chair.

Phantastic annie, that was the plan, hopephully make someone giggle. Wasn't it GBS who said that you could spell fish as 'phich' or somesuch, such are the idiosyncracies of the English language. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Blimey Carol
You jump right on in at the deap end dont you?
My sis in law used a staple gun I think. If that helps...like mell's idea though.
Love and good luck

Hi Carol
Using a staple gun is a good idea, but you will need strong ones which won't pull out.
The alternative would be to make a loose cover, fastened down one side at the back with velcro. As it is a tub chair, you might need to have some ties underneath to keep it in place, or more velcro along the bottom edge, with some glued onto the frame. The advantage of this would be that you could remove it for cleaning or washing.0 -
I'd get my mum to do it... I could give you her address?

Back on topic, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i4H2gqLnXg&NR=1 for how its done. Not a 'tub' chair, but the theory is the same.

what is a tub chair???????? please any oneval0
-
It's tricky to explain! They are smaller chairs, with a very rounded back: ah, got it. Think of the letter C - you are looking at a tub chair from above! Does that help? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
