You're sort of right baby, many people do say 'fink' and 'fank' and 'fort' when they acually mean 'think' and 'thank' and 'thought'. It's called Estuary English - pronounced 'Eschewry' - and is a wide-spread disease affecting (aphphecting) the mother tongue. Basically, what we are mucking about with is that any word that has an 'f' in it is being spelled with a 'ph' instead (English words with a /ph/ have a Greek root to them). So fun = phun, feel = pheel etc etc but then livinglegend took it one step phurther (in his own inimitable way) so photograph became 'fotograf'. Mostly we're sticking with the phabuolous phun created by carola - yup, Marilyn, this is all your phault! (Tho I did pick up the ball and ran with it!) DD

The late and great Ronnie Barker was a master of word play. The 'fork 'andles' sketch and 'people who pis-mronounce their words' are supreme examples of his skill. DD
