hoping that this will continue .... I want my MTX on Wednesday as I'm really missing it now :(

    hope you are all ok

hope to be on more over the weekend.

At last! Things are on the mend! I hope you can get the meth as it does something to help you - oh hell, hun, go for it anyway. Docs bend the rules left, right and centre when they feel the need, so why shouldn't you? I was on anti-biotics recently for a boil and still had my meth. I hope you have a good weekend, and keep on getting better! DD

thanks again for all the support.

well the good news is that I'm feeling a lot better as the horrid 'ill' feeling has gone, and so has the sore throat :D:D:D:D

the bad news is that the rash did get a lot better earlier in the week, but since the temperature has risen, it has come back in full force again despite the antibiotics :x :x

I take the last AB tomorrow, then I have to ring the rheumy nurse on Tuesday to see what they want to happen next.

not looking good for the MTX on Wednesday :( but the joints are not horrendous just yet so I'm hanging in there  At least I have an appointment on Weds with my usual GP.

    thanks again

    Hi Wonky

Glad you are feeling a little better in yourself now, but sorry the rash has flared again. We had a sunny day in my bit of Yorkshire today, most welcome.
Do hope all goes well for you on Wednesday. The pocket dwellers will be ready. I will bring a bit of brie since Toni is otherwise engaged.
    take care. ((((( ))))

Oh wonky, how annoying. Just when you thought you might be emerging from the woods they swamp you again. I really don't know what to say or suggest - wise advice from all the others, as usual, so - ooooh, I know! - Keep Calm and Carry On. Howzat? DD

THanks Chris for the thought, but I don't think I'll be needing pocket sitters tomorrow ...... you'll see why as you read on!!

'keep calm and carry on' DD- I like it :D:D:D:D

mind you my new mantra is 'I told you I was ill' (though not of course my own invention  ) as I have had a phone call from the GP surgery.

The throat swab taKen last week apparently shows a bacterial infection ...... so now have a week of Metroniazole so no MTX tomorrow I presume

at least my bee sting from last night has calmed down so I can type again

    :D:D:D:D:D

think I'm falling apart at the mo :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hopefully the proper meds will work, tho I am sorry you will be missing your meth - you like it, don't you, as it helps you. Hang on in there: clear the infection, sort out the sting, before you know it you will be back on the helpful stuff. DD

    HI

I've posted this on the other thread about pain meds but thought I'd add it here too.

well am back from seeing my usual GP :D:D

feel fairly positive even after a rubbish night with little sleep. I never realised what rubbish was on the TV at 3-4am until this morning  should have come on here to see who was about .... but hands weren't up to it really.

Right hand is really bad today (the one that was stung) but the other is not far behind. Right shoulder was screaming all night. With missing MTX today ( making 3 weeks in total so far) and next week looking unlikely I asked what we could do.

My GP suggested that we would be better trying a different NSAID rather than adding in more pain meds, so I'm ditching the Ibupofen for now & starting Naproxen to see if that helps .... both the GP and pharmacist think that I might even be able to lower some of the Co-codamol doses in time :D

My GP saw the rash for the first time and said it looked quite like Eczema, although not all of it ...... checked my urine to make sure it couldn't be vascullitis (all was fine) ...... so .......I can stop using that awful Coal Tar soap which has done nothing for the rash and dried out my skin :D:D:D:D:D , and instead I have 'Epaderm' cream which I can use 3 ways - instead of soap, in the bath, and as a moisturiser :D:D:D:D:D

Feeling quite positive at the moment ......... hopefully that will continue. Will need to have a quiet day today. maybe will have more energy tomorrow.

    thanks for all the support

Coal tar is good for psoriasis, so whoever told you to use that needs their head examining, as your rash definitely wasn't that. I haven't heard of the emollient you are using - are you getting it on prescription? Acqueous cream is used in the same way, and is dirt cheap from a supermarket pharmacy - not B***ts, tho, they charge a whole £3.50!

I hope the naproxen works for you. Let us know how you get on. DD

DD I have a pre-payment certificate so I got it on prescription thank goodness - couldn't manage without that ..... got 7 items this morning as it is

This Epaderm stuff is both a moisturiser and a cleanser, so does both jobs.

fingers crossed on all counts

They are worth their weight in gold aren't they? I still buy my acqueous tho, as it is cheaper that way. I use my PPC for the pricey stuff! DD

Bless you Iris & Chris ...... sorry I didn't see this sooner - not been on here since Saturday and I didn't manage to do much then

Antibiotics have not helped the throat ..... it's worse

Naproxen or antibitotics or both in combination have given me such bad stomach pains that I stopped taking the Naproxen and let arthur rampage as that was the better option

stomach is getting better but I think I'll go back onto the Ibuprofen for now.

Going to see if I can get a GP appoitnment tomorrow ...... take last antibiotic in the morning so I hope i get to see her.

GOt bloods on Wednseday but can't see them giving me MTX when I feel like I do.

I'll let you know tomorrow when I know anything.

hugs to you both & hope you are ok.

oh and the weather here is cold  windy  and I am shivvering   blooming August :lol::lol:

    hugs

    Oh Wonky,
Thats not so good is it?
There should be some effect by now. Looks like more AB's then.
Catch 22 with meds and tummy problems :(
Hope your dr can sort something out for you soon.

Looks like the heatings on again tonight.
How's the new path doing, are you still pleased with the results?

    Hi again Wonky

Yes I realised from your post elsewhere that you were still feeling pretty rough there. I know antibiotics can upset your tum, but did you not get any stomach protectors with the naproxen to help? I am on omeprazole with mine and they do both seem to be ok for me at the mo though I know we all reacte differently. I guess your whole system is a bit out of line at the moment, so do hope you can see the doc soon and start to feel a bit better.
Yes chilly here now too, but at least the winds have died down. I lost the roofing felt from my teeny garden shed with it all at the weekend and goodness knows where it ended up!
Hang in there and post when you feel up to it. We are thinking of you.
    love

    Hi Wonky

sorry to hear that things are no better.... worse than before

as Ironic n Chris said, your system is out of kilter and the docs are going to have to go back to basics to get you well again. :(

hope you do get to see the doc tomorrow; go prepared Wonky, sometimes we're zoomed in and out the docs and left wondering if they've really understood.... so please write it all down so the doc will listen and take account of the different factors at play.

fingers, toes and eyes are all crossed for you. :D

    let us know?

more ((((hugs)))) as you can never have enough of them!.

    Iris xxxx

ps... Hi Chris... nice to see you posting again.
