HI all
we're back from the hospital, and it's mixed news but I think I feel fairly positive if a bit frustrated in parts.
Thanks for so many of you coming with me .... bet it was squashed in my pockets!Sorry you had a bit of a wait once we got there ...... trust my notes to be late turning up when all of you were so early
The registrar was new, very helpful, but hadn't got all the results he needed from yesterday's blood tests, and couldn't get the results of two of the x-rays they did back in May :x :x so I'm waiting for a phone call from him tomorrow or Monday with further info on when I can restart MTX & a decision on whether I need to see a dermatologist about the rash - which he thinks is an allergy of some kind  :?
SO far I know that he doesn't think it is a MTX rash (phew!) doesn't think it is vascullitis but is doing bloods to rule that out (fingers crossed it's not or they would have to change some meds)
My RF came back negative so I've got sero-negative RA it would seem! Oh - the TB blood test results came back negative so that looks like very good news
It was so good of you all to try to get into the picture when he took photos of my arms with his iphone .... don't expect copies of them will you !! I can't imagine what the dermatologist will think when he sees them
am going to start the Naproxen again tonight, as my stomach has improved, and just wait for the phone to ring with more news. Still at least they didn't run screaming when they saw me and throw me in quarantine
hugs

Hi wonky
glad your app went relatively well.
I see on your report there are mixed emotions but there are alot of smiley ones. thats great.
You will be whacked now after app. Hope the lay down recharges your batteries. oh, here , a nice cup of tea.
love juliepf x0 -
Ooooh, a bit hit and miss, eh wonky? It's deplorable that they didn't have the results of May's Xrays there - how long do they need? I suppose the blood tests were a little recent for results but these things happen. COuld the rash be an allergy? Have you ever had it before? I hope you get the dermatology appointment quite quickly, you (and us!) need to know what this rash is. I hope you have a good rest - these things are always tiring. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Glad went quite well And hope when everythings back can go back on mxt. Love jo x0

Hi Wonky -
well you sound positive, I love your report of the appointment.
How frustrating that not all the results were in and they couldn't access the x rays etc ... but good the rash isn't the mtx and that you came through the TB screening ok. Hope he gets in touch asap.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Wonky, so glad it went well and had positive results.
You'll be glad to get it over and done with, now you can rest up and hope that everything combines to get you sorted out once and for all!
Sorry about the crunching sounds.......I couldn't quite eat all the mussels.........

HI Wonky
Glad that you had a reasonably OK appointment (good news about the TB result) but a bit frustrating about the missing results..
Hope to hear more after the Registrar has phoned you..
Also hope that you get some rest tonight - you must be exhausted!
Best wishes

Hi Wonky

Hi Wonky,
Hope you get the phone call soon. Glad that OH was with you, it was a long day for you.
Have a good rest and have a better weekend this time.

Hi Wonky
Sorry you had a "mixed" appointment but really glad they don't think the rash is mtx related - and that you are able to get back on the Naproxyn again now. Hope you don't have to wait long for the rest of the results - it's sooooo frustrating isn't it?
Thinking of you.
Love Tilly x0 -
Hi Wonky,
How are things with you today. Did you get the phone call yet?
Lv, Ix0 -
Hi Ironic & everyone else
no phone call today but I didn't honestly expect it as they did bloods yesterday at the hospital and well they do take time to get the results. It'll probably be Monday when he rings, but I'm not going to be standing by the phone all day - I'm getting my garden sorted that day (nice young man is coming to dig the garden and plant stuff for me shhh dont' tell hubby )
sleepy today so haven't done much. Sleeping seems to be my main forte right now ...... wonder are there any jobs as bed testers going?
hugs

Have fun with your young man & dont make him work too hard. Im getting a hot flush just thinking about it
Hope you get your results through soon.
debs0 -
OH Debs you did make me smile
I promise to behave on Monday .... I have to - the young man concerned just happens to be one of my best friend's sons
As for your hubby ..... he is missing something there and no mistake .... my mum and day always had two singles tied together, and they said it was the best thing they ever did. They had different mattress types, and all the extra space they needed. Only problem for them was that super-king size quilts hadn't been invented then, but mum just sewed two smaller quilts together and made her own sheets and quilt covers
hope your hubby sees sense soon
Wonky0 -
Oh Wonky he's not having it  Ive told him he gets 3ft of his own space, no roll together & the memory foam topper can go back on(might have to change that to a king size but dont tell him )I bet if i can get rid of him for a day (not likely)get them delivered He wouldnt even notice til i told him
Can i send him up to you for some gardening? Snowys getting really good at digging holes :x  He's just dug a new one in the lawn & i darent tell him
Good luck with it all hun, hope you get some where soon.

Oh boy. Men. I know exactly where you are coming from on this one, minky. Why are they so dim? Mine moans when I bash him with my knee pillow (bash is too strong a word, nudge might be more descriptive), he moans when I sit up to turn over (OK, you try having a 10" scar on your abdomen after a 'slash and grab' by a surgeon to remove a poisoned ovary - admittedly this was 9 years ago now but old habits die hard), he groans when I am wiping down with a towel after another flush/heat surge thanks to meds (WHICH HE ISN'T TAKING 'COS HE IS HEALTHY) ooooooooh - that feels better.
Mind you, I moan when he wakes me whilst 'scenting' the bedroom within his personal miasma, I do panic when I wake and he is breathing so quietly I think he's died and have to check he hasn't (his fault, he should do as I do, snore like a warthog) - life is complicated sometimes. I think the Queen has it right: sleep together briefly when comfort is required. After that, separate ways.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
OH DD ..... you said so many things i recongnised there
You could have been a fly on our bedroom wall
Hubby now wants to know what I'm laughing about but I think I'll tell him he wouldn't be interested
How do they do that breathing so quietly? Is it a 'man thing' do you think? Mind you , at times I wonder why I even try to sleep in our room ...... hubby has two sleeping volumes .... 'so quiet I think He's died' and 'raging warthog on the rampage'  and when littlelegs joins in 3am can be a very noisy time
here's hoping we all have a peaceful night's sleep tonight
Wonky0 -
He's not dim just needs pointing in the right direction.& he's diffo intellegent, doesnt need PJs for the winter & his extremities dont suffer here.
I have that huge scar.
Once for caesar section & 2nd time for hysterectomy but never had to sit up & turn in bed until i got cervical spondy & OA. Now spine doesnt allow me to turn over normally. i have prolapsed discs at L4/L5 & neck, mid & lower back doesnt allow me to bend.
right where were we?
debs0 -
I had to do the sitting up thing: they removed an ovarian cyst that weighed 8lbs. During the course of its growth it had pushed all my organs away from it: from the time they removed it I could no longer turn over of my own free will - all my organs (mostly guts I guess) would slosh about having lost their liquid-filled cushion, and the effect of the surgery. That's why pregnant women expand frontwards I suppose, leaves all the innards alone. I was 'pregnant' but in the wrong place! To this day I cannot turn over without waking first, tho the waking isn't a problem now. The pain does that all the time. Lovely.
The Husband only snores when he falls asleep, post-beer, on the sofa. In bed he's always in 'dead' mode. His chest barely moves. I prefer the wildebeest/warthog approach, then no-one is in any doubt about the presence of life. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
