Been off my food for a few weeks now, don't know what to buy and am tired of throwing good food out because I no longer fancy it (there is a limit to the bits I can get in my two drawer freezer) Anyway just out of the blue I have got quite excited over thoughts of bubble and squeak and have nearly crippled my gammy leg in my rush to get into the kitchen, I can now smell the pots. cooking and am going to put the savoy in now Yah!!!!
Would be interesting to see what simple comfort food cheers everyone else?

My fave comfort food is soup. Just piles of fresh veg, some stock and water.I also like to microwave a jacket spud from garden and smother in butter. Beans on toast is also lovely,

Nah did not enjoy that one bit, maybe it's the meds. But isn't it funny how comfort food is always cheap - anyone any idea why.
Also do you rich people among us (must be some) enjoy 'cheap comfort' food.
I think I will go for the egg and chips tomorrow.

We have a pudding club at work where we have a vote as to what we fancy and then I cook it!!! We've had all sorts; bread and butter pud, jam roly poly, gypsy tart, citrus bars and chocolate tart to name a few. I think it might be blackberry and apple crumble on friday yummmmmm0

This is the third site I've posted this to.
Try a dish of black puddings and vanilla ice cream with
a slice of marmite toast to dip in. Wash it down with
a couple of pints of the bitter of your choice.0 -
Pudding Clubs were something totally diferent 20 years ago!
Still with the cheap foods though I see. What so rich folk comfort themselves with - where are you.
goodnight sleep well

When I'm off my food I have egg custard,....yhhmmm
Mushroom soup thick creamy .......mmmmm
Casserole mince with potatoes all cripspy on the top. You put carrot omions, peas, all sorts of chopped veg.
Put a couple of oxo's in it and just add a tine of heinz vegtable soup
Let it simmer away in the oven until ready, instant meal with all your vegtables. Takes about half hour to prepare pop in the oven add slices of potatoes on the top, let them grow crispy eat when you want.

Ooooh, depends on the level of comfort required. General dismal day-to-day stuff = cheese and pickle sandwich. More specific upset, a good quality vanilla ice-cream. PA flare = endless supplies of plain hula-hoops and full fat Coke. A hangover needs a chicken burger, fries and coke. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

My comfort food is bacon, egg, sausage and tinned tomatoes with 2 slices of bread to mop up the tomato juice.
....or fish, chips and mushy peas
....or tinned ravoli on toast
...or a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings

Toad in the hole, bangers, mash and baked beans. A fry up.
Homemade soup and crusty bread and cheese. Pizza. Fish and chips. Roast dinner. Home baked bread, still warm with butter and cheese. Yum!

Oooooh, I forgot fishfingers, chips and peas, plus a glass of white grape juice. No: that's a treat, not a comfort. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
