    Hello NB
How are you feeling now? I'm just looking in to say I hope your appointment goes well on Friday & you get all the answers you need. I think I have the same kind of replacement as you (ceramic no glue) & have been having weird pains in mine recently. I have about an inch leg length difference too and that has made getting about (even with the orthosis) awkward so really feel for you & have trying to be extra careful again with mine too.
Do hope the pain has really eased up by now for you but even if it has, still take care & get the family to help still until you, hopefully, get more reassurance on Friday.
Also bumping your post up in case some of us had missed it & I know they will want to send best wishes too.
    love Pennie x

    Thanks Pennie and Cris
I have been lurking on here this week but not posted much as don`t want to worry others with or due to have THR`s. I`m sleeping a bit better and the pain is less . I went out in car with hubby yesterday, short drive, but it was really uncomfortable, and it felt `unstable`. This worries me as my job is reliant on driving. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow will give me some answers, but I am worried that as it is a new surgeon, he will be vague and say `just one of those things`. That can`t be right though after all this time. I have made a list of things to ask, although I know docs hate this.
Hope your hip starts ot improve Pennie xx
And, if you need anyone to keep an eye on your gang Cris I`m available

    Hi NB,

I'm pleased your sleep and pain levels are improving. Car travel was one of my worst things after the op ... and so I'm not surprised your hip is protesting after its manoevers. Bucket car seats are/were the worst and I found placing a cushion in the dip and then using cushions/foam pads to counteract the backward slope of some seats also helped.

I hope your appointment goes well and you get some answers. If the ortho is pulling the "one of those things" card - then ask him what combination of movements you have to avoid to avoid it happening again (if that isn't on your list already.)

Don't not post because of protecting others ... this forum is here for you too and I for one worry more about you when we don't hear how you are getting on.

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
