Hi Hileena,
Tis all going in the right direction and I am sure Speedy is right and you will be so much better off one its all settled. Hope it goes well on Tuesday as well.
I am the other way round, the hips don't hurt too much though the xrays say they should but my spine can and does send me up the wall and across the ceiling!
Leaving you a ((( ))) and a bucket of hopes. Cris x0 -
You are probably walking awkwardly at the moment so causing other aches and pains. Do you use a stick/sticks of any sort? I know you have your scooter too. It willl make a huge difference, I am sure, and you will wonder how you were managing! I know what you mean about the hairwashing - it is such a boost to have clean hair. It's one of my life's greatest luxuries, speaking of which, I'm off to do it now! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

You are getting there, I would say slow but sure, but its been so fast.
I am still being a chicken, like you i need both hips doing, and a possible knee, but my back is so painful i do wonder if anything will change.
Sorry making excuses again.
You keep on improving, then you can enjoy Christmas.
Love

Morning DD, I dont use sticks normally....on holiday when i was walking a lot I used my folding one sometimes.....
The scooter {at home} is only used on a Sat going round the metro center....the rest of the time its the little micra and walking but on holiday there was a lot of walking so it did make it more enjoyable to use it now and again
I know what you mean about hair as well....I'm going to do mine early afternoon. after I've become a bit more supple LOL

Well, at the risk of sounding bossy (moi? !) do you think a stick might help? It is good for balance and stability and it could ease the strain on other areas thus making life a little more comfy. You want to be in as good a place as possible come the op. You ....bossy DD....Never!!!!!!!!!! LOL
OK....say I did use stick/sticks....how would I use them....wait a minute ..not as silly as it first sounds lOL
Both hips are sore....sometimes one more than the other..it varies...and lower back gets sore if I walk too far or try to carry things...{which I dont}....so help!!!!!!!!
Hileena0 -
Oh Hileena
I have bought un sac (a bag) in France which has a log handle so I can stick it over my neck shoulderythingy and carry stuff less painfully.
If both hips hurt I dont know what to say

Hi Toni
I tend to use a backpack thingey.......on both shoulders....not a bag these days....you find out what you can do and what you cant do LOL but since the op I'm figuring it out all over again

Your hips may be sore as they are taking the strain. Elbow crutches may be an answer as you can transfer a fair amount of body weight through the upper body and your arms, thus easing the strain on hips and knees. Sticks are not quite so good for that - they tend to wobble! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi DD...dashing out but just thought I would put a quick reply in
I've only got sticks...was never given elbow crutches...that would feel like one step forward and 2 back.
A bit the way you feel about a mobility scooter LOL

I think I was having an off day then! It's inevitable, so why grump - things are there to help. I cannot walk far without my crutches, about twenty strides and I'm done: they do help to 'spread the load'. It is a dilemma for you, I realise that. Anyhoo, new joint not too far away - that's a good thing! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks DD...it was you posted that then LOL I said that then thought was it DD that said that??
Anyway i'm going out tonight.....so I've fished out my hospital stick as opposed to folding one.....dont have crutches...I'll put it in the boot of the car....might not come out but at least it will be there Hear you later. Be on;later tonight
Love
Hileena0
