    Hi Val
Mouth ulsers are rotten, try rinsing your mouth with salty water, it does hurt at first but then takes the pain out
My GP has just taken me of anti inflams, because of my kidneys, so I know how you feel, they worked better then any other meds.Hope you get rid of them soon.

    Hi Val,

have you tried Corsodyl mouthwash - this was recommended to me for S, by a dentist when he was getting reoccuring mouth ulcers, pimples on his tongue etc It is a also good for things like thrush. Like you I'd be reluctant to give up a med that was working, unless I had something else to replace it with. Corsodyl does not interact with other meds so can be taken alongside your usual ones. If you haven't tried it already, perhaps you should give it a go before following GPs advice.

    Speedy

NB There are different strengths of Corsodyl. To start with make sure you get the one for short term use. Can always switch to the one you can use daily for maintaince at the end of the course.
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Val

Sorry to see you have had to stop the Naproxen, I can't live without mine now and would hate to lose them!! Hope you can find a different way to deal with the mouth ulcers, I can only think of mouth washes, but think your dentist would be able to advise. I know what you mean about being a tin man, I wake up like an ironing board most days! :? Hope you feel better soon.

    Poor you Val :(

My eldest had corsodyl when she had a fall at school and knocked her teeth back into her mouth - it is good. Use it a while after you clean your teeth apparently.

I will send you some WD40

Hi Val - sorry about the mouth ulcers - I know they are really horrible.

Just to add to what the others have said - I went to dentist the other day and I asked him what was best for sore mouth caused by meds. He too said Corsodyl - but only short term because it is alcohol based and quite harsh. Also, I use Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash - meant for dry mouth probs which can cause soreness but really helps with general mouth health. Again, dentist says this is good stuff to use. Downside is that it is really expensive (although not as expensive as the dentist!). The other option is salt water mouth rinses but this is not pleasant and doesn't help if you already have a dry mouth.

Really hope you find a solution soon Val. Hopefully it isn't the anti-inflamms causing the problem, so you will be able to take them again soon.

    Love Tilly x

Oh Val its just not fair! I used to get huge amounts of ulcers but have become obsessed with teeth cleaning and rinsing my mouth and although it makes the gums recede (keep being told to go easy on them) the ulcers don't happen so much now.

I really hope they can sort out some help with the pain that doesn't damage the rest of you .... and.... Tin man, I am off to see the wizard...I need a new body  So come on flower... follow this yellow brick road..... ((( ))) Cris xx Oh and a cyber Aztec bar :D

Are you seeing any improvement in the ulcers yet?

    Hi Val
sorry to hear you're feeling a bit under the weather. Perhaps you could try Difflam mouthwash, that's what I use as I find corsodyl too strong. Really hope you start to feel better soon.

    Hi Val

Ask in B**ts for Adcortyl in Orabase its a tiny tube and works really well.
Its the only thing I have found to clear them overnight!
They dont always have it in stock but will get you some.

    Good luck *CB*
