The Flu Jab

I had mine last Wednesday - didn't feel a thing, no itchiness or redness, no reaction whatsoever. I also missed meth - hoorah! It was nice whilst that lasted. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Me and my big mouth...woke up in the night and yes sore arm. Oh well it will only be for a few days.0

I had mine last week, and I've been fine. I don't understand the issue with swine flu-flu is flu, you need protection against all the varieties that are going around. I've never had flu, but I saw my mum and sister get it, and one got pleuresy and the other pneumonia, so I don;t want to ever get it!0

I had my Flu jab today, never a problem. Though when I had the Pneumonia jab last year I couldn't sleep on that arm for two weeks.
I bled badly today though, the nurse said I was the only one who had bled today.
I think maybe it's because I'm on a high strength Aspirin every day that thins the blood.0 -
Had my combined flu jab this morning. She was spouting out the types of flu so quickly, but gathered that it combined the cluck, oink, neigh, baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa types altogether.
So far, just a very painful arm.
Had a chest infection 3 weeks ago so had to put it off until today. Yes Annie, just getting over a flare up of PMR, second one in two months and didn't take the steroids this time. Hoping that I can work my way through it. Not easy. Went to bed and slept 2 hours yesterday.
Anyway, all of you who have had the flu jab, well done. Let's hope you all stay clear. Won't stop you getting viruses though.

I had my flu jab on Thursday... the nurse asked if I'd had the 2 part swine flu jabs last year as this years' jab has swine flu vaccine in it.
She said that if I didn't get both parts of the swine jab last year then I would need to have the swine flu vac on it's own first.... followed two weeks later by the new combi flu jab.. to be properly protected.
I asked too about the pneumo vaccine... she said that for immuno suppressed peeps it's done every 5years.

nanasue wrote:Hello everyone, When I booked my appointment I asked the receptionist and she said they were adding it, I said I had a bad reaction last year so she got the nurse to ring me, she said they will have jabs with and without so I have to tell them when I get there. I thought my bad reaction w3as due to the meds but nurse said she had a reaction as well so at least I know it's not just me. Hope this might help some of you.

Very interesting Sue - wished I'd read this before I got my jab last Thursday :!: Last year was the first time I had the flu jab, so I had the swine flu one as well. My arm was red, hot and hard for a day or two after, and I did feel a bit 'off'.
This year I never gave a thought to the swine flu, and had no idea it was included. I had the same reaction on my arm, but on Friday I felt nauseous, and by lunchtime I had to go to bed I felt so cold and shivery..... and generally unwell.
Saturday I felt fine again! So I'm sure it was a reaction to the jab
Next year I'm going to ask exactly WHAT they are giving me before I have it - blimey they could have been injecting me with anything
