OH = other half or occupational health - context makes it apparent which is being referred to.
TNF = tumour necrosing factor, so anti TNF = anti that. TNF is found in the bloodstream of RAers etc and getting rid of it seems to ease symptoms.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

CT = computerised tomography :? , but in layman's terms its a type of x ray scanner, that you lie in and it takes cross sectional pictures

AB / ABs = antibiotics
AD / ADs = anti-depressants
CBT = cognitive behavioural therapy
blood tests I often have are:
FBC = full blood count
Profile = biochemical profile
ESR = erythrocite sedimentation rate (I think!)
PV = plasma viscosity (my area now does this instead of the ESR test)
CRP = c-reactive protein

Of the meds we all have, what type of thing they do? On this thread so far I think we have definitions for many of them, but I personally am not sure as to what they do to help our poorly bodies.

DDA is either the Disabilities Discrimination Act..... or I know it better as the Dangerous Dog Act... now that really did used to confuse me Couldn't work out why arthritis was connected to the DDA I knew Cris x0

I remember getting very worried about the term NAD that kept appearing on my notes when I was expecting my first child. It was a long time before I found it meant "nothing abnormal discovered" !!0
