    The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

    If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    OH = other half or occupational health - context makes it apparent which is being referred to.
    TNF = tumour necrosing factor, so anti TNF = anti that. TNF is found in the bloodstream of RAers etc and getting rid of it seems to ease symptoms.

    what an excellent idea for a thread!

    AB / ABs = antibiotics

    AD / ADs = anti-depressants

    CBT = cognitive behavioural therapy

    blood tests I often have are:

    FBC = full blood count

    Profile = biochemical profile

    ESR = erythrocite sedimentation rate (I think!)

    PV = plasma viscosity (my area now does this instead of the ESR test)

    CRP = c-reactive protein

    phew!!

    Of the meds we all have, what type of thing they do? On this thread so far I think we have definitions for many of them, but I personally am not sure as to what they do to help our poorly bodies. :wink:

    Sulfa - Sulfasalazine
    Hydox - Hydroxychloroquine
    Meloxicam

    All anti-inflammatory meds (I have them for my RA).

    Humira (Adalimumab)

    Enbrel (Etanercept)

    Tocilizumab (RoActemra)

    Certolizumab (Cimzia)

    types of Anti-Tnf's!

    (Anti-TNFs are a type of biologic drug that work by blocking the action of a chemical called tumour necrosis factor (TNF). TNF is thought to play an important role in driving the inflammation and tissue damage in certain kinds of inflammatory arthritis.)

    I remember getting very worried about the term NAD that kept appearing on my notes when I was expecting my first child. It was a long time before I found it meant "nothing abnormal discovered" !! :mrgreen:
