    For meds:

    q = every
    BID = twice daily
    TID = three times daily
    SID = once daily
    EOD = every other day

    Illnesses:

    AS = ankylosing spondylitis
    PsA = psoriatic arthritis

    Hi Fortuna - you're spot on.

    PIP - Proximal InterPhalangeal joint - is the finger joint nearest the main part of the hand.
    The DIP - Distal InterPhalangeal Joint is the one nearest the fingernail.

    If you put "PIP Joint hand" into a search engine, then go to Images, there are some lovely illustrations

    Hello again, BettyMac. It's kind of you to reply to Fortuna but she hasn't been on here for ages. Of course, some people look in even when they don't post but most don't.

    Actually, I'm no longer sure of the value of this thread. It started with the obvious abbreviations for the different types of arthritis and its medication but has veered off in different directions over the years. I've also noticed, in recent times, that abbreviation is the norm and people come on here asking for advice about their ABC in the DEF for which they're taking GHI and JKL meds. :o :? :? :wink:
