It's not medical but I call my walking stick(s) my friend Eileen because like all good friends she's always there when I need her support and then I lean on her!He did not say you will not be storm tossed, you will not be sore distressed, you will not be work weary. He said you will not be overcome.

Hi Fortuna - you're spot on.
PIP - Proximal InterPhalangeal joint - is the finger joint nearest the main part of the hand.
The DIP - Distal InterPhalangeal Joint is the one nearest the fingernail.
If you put "PIP Joint hand" into a search engine, then go to Images, there are some lovely illustrations0 -
Hello again, BettyMac. It's kind of you to reply to Fortuna but she hasn't been on here for ages. Of course, some people look in even when they don't post but most don't.
Actually, I'm no longer sure of the value of this thread. It started with the obvious abbreviations for the different types of arthritis and its medication but has veered off in different directions over the years. I've also noticed, in recent times, that abbreviation is the norm and people come on here asking for advice about their ABC in the DEF for which they're taking GHI and JKL meds. :? :?If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
