Hope your ops gone well I had my TWR 2 weeks ago tomorrow the hardest thing i found was ahem !!! lifting up my skirt and pulling my knickers down for a pee lol but managed I am still using front fastning bras and am still wrapped in a bandage had skin reaction to something and came up in the biggest blisters ever seen was checked for sepatacemia, BUT am now using my wrist to a degree stitches still in until thursday so stretching fingers is hard to do, but can now attempt most things had no physio no plaster casts, got copy of my xray with my new wrist even my gps got one and is "very proud of me "lol anyway fingers crossed your op goes as well,

    Hi Everyone
    Thank you for your support
The operations went well didnt feel a thing worse thing was injections to the wrists didnt help having both injected at same time! but it was soon over!
The nurse was lovely & stayed with me during the op
Every1 was making me laugh & believe me I even enjoyed myself
I think it helped coz I knew the surgeon & how good he is. I work on the ward where he is consultant everyone made me feel at ease so the op went quick
Im now 2nd day post on have no swelling & pain easing & no pins & needles at night bliss!
I find typing uncomfortable but felt I needed to keep you all informed
    Love Maria x

Hi Maria, hope you are doing well and getting plenty of rest and pampering.

Lavenderlady - You sound like you are coping really well. Did you have a mefix dressing? I am allergic to mefix and it is the sticky dressing they often use after ops. I came up in massive blisters and the skin all ripped when they pulled off my dressing (first hip op.)

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
