Between me & me Brother were having to go down & do stuff for mum & dad.
I went on friday to take me wheelchair down as dad cant walk to the loo & i can do without fr a bit. then tuesday i have to take mum shopping with OH so she will be in wheelchair. I can hobble short distances on me crutches.Social services are supposed to be bringing mum one out next week.
Im glad you got out but the paybacks a bugger. Im getting loads of that just being in the house trying to catch up on jobs :roll:0 -
I hope it's not too far a drive for you, did you get the car thing sorted? Forgive me if you have told me already but I really do have memory problems, I may have even told you that already
I hope that things will get better for you soon...Me-Tony

Got to see if dads going to recover enought o drive but there hard work.
Yes you did tell me & my memories not much better :roll:Dont worry aboutthat
Its 65miles each way plus the shopping. Takes it outta me & i may have to drive it Tuesday as the winds took a panel outta the garden room, ordered new one today plus a spare & waiting for confirmation of delivery day.
But i have to go down as dad cant drive & mums about blind.0 -
I know it's hard but I would do it for my folks too Debs..
They live 120 miles away and I would be there in a couple of hours if they needed me... The morning I rang them with the news my OH had been diagnosed with heart failure the night before they turned up at the hospital within four hours, I was very glad of the company I'll be honest..Me-Tony

Its hard in this situation but my brother has took most of the burden. Luckily ATM he hasnt got any work on, but his girlfriend is expecting her 6th (Not all his) & he works 60/70hrs a week.
I can & will do what i can as they me parents.
we do dont we.
Takes us an hour n half to get down there. Not to bad compared to you, but it still takes it outta you.
Just wish i could wake up one day painfree & deal with stuff i need to do.Just one day would be nice.0 -
Aye, with you on that one, I would take one day... Lol
I think it has now been too many years to remember since I had a totally pain free day... I keep kidding myself and saying it's about twenty yrs in total since my knees started with osteo chondritis, that then turned into good old arthur, but I was about 13 so it makes it 30 years this year!!! Jesus, I can't beleive it has been that long   :???:Me-Tony

I had a serious motorbike accident in 1983 (was 17) & my Orhto at the time said i would be knackered at 40. I fought this but just before i was 40 i was off work with severe neck, back, knee & wrist pain.
I had been down to theatre in amputation cloth, parents said they were ready to take my foot off at ankle. But i suffered back injuries also, landed on my hand. Took 3 ops to save my foot.
Got dx with OA in most joint then the dx with Fibromyalgia, bugger bums.0 -
Ain't we all a bunch of lucky sods? Lol
I really do consider myself lucky sometimes though, and yes, it's a cliche but there are always folk worse off than me..
Then again, pain is pain eh?
Don't know where I would be if I lost my sense of humour though, probably live in depressedville full time instead of just popping in for an odd visit
It was at thirteen that my best friend was killed on a motorbike, silly **** had stolen it and had no helmet on, still miss him a hell of a lot, had a major impact on me... I made a promise to his parents that I would never get a motorbike, I never did... Now I never could even if I wanted to lolMe-Tony

I did keep a bike until about 3 yrs ago my GPZ 500, was sad to see her go
