Haha Applerose you'll never get kids off their phones and consoles! How lovely Ruby loves the house you bought for her.
Kath how bad its come back, hopefully it is just temporary. I've no idea what is causing mine but it was a bit better yesterday. Maybe you've got my share?
Barbara that was a nasty thing to happen to your hairdresser. It could have been worse so glad she survived!
Joan easily done. Not to worry. I think you can still delete a post or did they do away with that?
I actually feel awake so thought I'd get up and get on after a couple of hours sleep. Don't know about you all but I'm always getting forms to fill in. It drives me mad as I've got to hunt around for bills/ dates/ phone numbers etc ad my brain is mush.
I need to phone to reorder some meds. I'm hoping they answer otherwise I'll forget again and I'll run out very soon.
Did you really ave a Greyhound Barbara? gosh I'd better not tell my Son as he'll want to know every detail :P Not long for the lappy, I think we need a new one as 2 laptops are getting old and slow now. Mind you my Son has been putting our photographs on, not to mention the Greyhound pictures!
The only birds I have seen lately are magpies. We have a lot of them.
I guess Toady is busy. Hope you had a good weekend Toady.
Take care

Afternoon all,I think the birds that use my garden knew there was a count going on I've never seen it so quiet for ages.
Dull and grey here not too cold though, its surpassed to get colder later in the week. Take care all . Mig0 -
Hello all
Oh Kath I was hoping that itching had disappeared..I use to have some allergys and the itching drove me mad so I feel for you on top of everything..yes I heard about the marmite Easter egg yesterday..I like marmite but not sure of it with chocolateyes it could have been worse for my hairdresser...she is still in hospital but so grateful the children had gone in
Elizabeth we only had the Greyhound for a couple of weeks but got so attached till they found her owner..they are very docile and like to lounger around but also like there walksyes there are lots of magpies here..I have notice more and more over the last couple of years..
Mig it dull and cold here..snow mentioned for tomorrow..the birdie did a runner here has well..
Toady has been quiet Elizabeth..like you I hope she is just busy...
Well my hairdresser is still in hospital she has a few illnesses so they are keeping an eye on her..apparently the lady was in a hurry to do her child's party..
so tired today ..I sleep but dream constantly and wake up shattered..
I will put the kettle on and sit by the window ..if you hear snoring you know who it is...Love

Hello everyone, dull and miserable here.
Thought you might be interested in reading my latest poem. Wrote it this morning after we came back from A**a, and after a bad night. Most of you will probably recognise the sentiment.
Broken
I take tablets
every day,
do they work?
I couldn't say.
I've bits that hurt
and bits that don't,
bits that move
and bits that won't!
Sore bits.
spreading in a patch.
Itchy bits,
that I MUST scratch.
Muscles, joints, bones and skin,
on the outside and within.
Lips and tongue,
teeth and jaw,
eyes and nostrils,
all are sore.
Maybe pills are just a token.
They can't mend me -
I'm too broken!"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Joan, don't worry about the post being in the wrong place. I've done it myself.
Oh Barbara, I hope your hairdresser wasn't too badly hurt. A broken leg is bad enough. Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. See you on your new laptop tomorrow?
Oh no Kath. Sorry it's back. I blame everything on RA although I know it can't always be that. Impossible to tell what goes with what sometimes. Very dull here too. No rain though but looked as if there was snow in the clouds at teatime. I think I heard someone mention Marm*te eggs. Hmmmm, no thank you. Good poem Kath.
Elizabeth, I hate filling in forms when you need to look up information. Hope you managed to order your meds. There seem to be more magpies in our area than before.
Mig, I wonder too if the birds deliberately stay away when we're counting them although I did well this time with quite a few.Christine0 -
Hi all, just to say I'm around, haven't posted (but I'm ok thanks)
but today being my after-mtx day I'll be back when I'm more compos mentis
& will catch up then. love all xx

Morning everyone, The sun is shinning here through its windy and bitterly cold its just stopped raining.
Chicken curry and rice for tea its just a jar of curry sauce that you can buy in any shop and individual bags of rice ,i don't really like naan bread so i have crusty baguette with mine.
Kath i like your poem and envy your talent for writing them.
Just watching JK and having a coffee before shopping is delivered.
The sky has just gone really dark grey and the wind is blowing hard glad i did the bird feeders earlier, wow the rain is hitting off the windows shall have to put a light on . Mig0 -
Morning all
Laptop has arrived and on charge...fingers crossed because its a refurbish one
Kath I love the poem, think I have said before my late brother used to write poems and he would say it a brilliant way of getting things out..you are clever...
Christine..hope work is going ok ..especially while they are all home again and how did your bosses mum go on after her fall..and how are your family in Aussie..strange but all the birds came back after the hour of watching...think they must tweet to one another...
Mig..we have the rain and wind...just hope we don't get the promised snow ..I use a jar for our curry did try and make it from scratch but cant stand for long so the jars are a godsend
Toady..glad to know you are ok.. I hope the MTX doesn't leave you feeling to yuk..going off what the others say tiredness is the thing...will let you know how the laptop goes when it charged...
I am sorting middle GDs room today so I can put sheet on a shelf in her wardrobe ..save my drawers from collapsing..OH is doing most of it...or it wont get done.. :roll:Love

Hello everyone
I hope you are all having a good day. we have rain and wind.

I've had another sleepy day, but had to get up periodically to wash, wash up, tidy you know the score. OH as done nothing in the house as usual. So I got out the plates ready for when my Son comes home (fish and chip day) as he has a favourite blue plate and I've come down stairs only to find OH has put them all away! Its the only thing he's done all day!
Yep meds ordered as they answered the phone
Here's hoping the laptop is fine Barbara.
I know how you feel Toady. Thankfully I no longer take MTX. I'd be upset if they put me back on to it. Hope the 'horror' is easing. I always woke up after 48 hours feeling totally different and so much better and sometimes wonder if its worth putting ourselves through. I think Kath says as much in her poem!
Well sadly our old family friend passed away on Sunday. She has been ill for many years with cancer. So 2 funerals to attend and just hoping there will be no more.

Hi Toady. Good to know you're ok. Just post when you can.
Mig, I haven't used jars for a long time but am finding them useful at the moment for times when I can't be bothered with cooking from scratch. Some of them are quite good, aren't they? It's been dark here all day. Snowing now a few miles away.
Barbara, yaay, you've got your laptop. My boss's mum is still in pain and still insisting she doesn't need an x-ray. Guess they can't pick her up and carry her there. My daughter said they didn't get much sleep last night. Their 3 year old came in to their bed as he'd wet his own and then a possum was banging around on the roof. She wrote a poem about it.
There were 2 in the bed
until 4am when Tyg said
I've wet my bed
Can I come in your bed?
Then there were 3 in the bed
until 4.30am then daddy fell out
and gave a shout
what's that noise?
Then there were 2 in the bed
and Gary said
'Theres a possum in the loft'
and I said 'ah don't be so soft
So no sleep was had last night
Not a shut eye in sight.
Joan, hope you don't get any of the snow that's forecast.
Elizabeth, isn't that typical of a man? Probably thought he was helping by tidying up. Sorry to hear about your friend. At least she is at peace now.
I found a duck breast in the supermarket today so got it for my tea. I put some roast potatoes in the oven, browned the duck in the frying pan then put it in the oven. Then I prepared a beef strogonoff for tomorrow. Totally forgot to cook any veg and managed to put the casserole dish with the strogonoff in to the oven on top of my roasties. Then as I tried to take it all out of the oven, dropped the tray with the roasties on the floor. I was so hungry by then, I went with the 3 second rule and picked them off the floor and put them on my plate. So I had 2 roasties (I'm sure I put 3 in the oven but couldn't find the 3rd) and a duck breast. :?Christine0 -
Morning all,,heavy frost here and its just started snowing.. so thats me staying in if it carry's on
On my new laptop..and no having to go back and put spaces in..bliss
Joan hope you and Sue stay safe and warm..
Elizabeth ..Im sorry to hear about your friend..sometimes we get funeral coming thick and fast,,I know it sounds awful but unless they are really close family or friends, I try and avoid them, men eh...my hubby is the same he is so good at helping but I have to ask..he dosen't see what wants doing.. the laptop is brilliant thanks..
Christine your bosses mum sounds like a strong minded lady...they dont see what is best for them...fancy your daughter having a possum on the roof..I love the poem..
they must see all sorts of different wildlife..I hope they send you pics of them all...sure they do
aww I felt for you when I read about your dinner ..what a shame and I would have picked it up off the floor and eaten it..in fact I drop lots of food ..I bet it tasted good anyway especially when you are hungry
Well the snow is really coming down here...I used to love it but have been dreading it..dosen't go with crutches..OH has just taken eldest GD to work..bless she has really got into it...and has an interview next week for a teaching assistant apprenticeship..but she doesn't seem bothered.. I am amazed at how she has taken to it not everyone's cup of tea..there are 20 or 22 patients and and 4 to 5 staff..and 3 flights of stairs..and the nearly all have Alzheimer's so its not easy
Sorry Im rambling,,will go and put the kettle on and stoke up the log fire,,Love

Well theres not a flake of snow to be seen here in notts though its forecast for later but its so cold again .
Hows it going with the new computer Barbara,i found it very strange going from a pc to a lap top,at the moment I'm sat with laptop on my knee a coffee on the table and JK on the tv.
Apparently there was an earthquake in notts yesterday afternoon i never felt a thing.
Going to rummage in the freezer to see what to make for tea. Mig0 -

Hello everyone, snow has just started here.
Christine, some of my itching is caused by Nodular Prurigo which causes horried lumps to form, they itch like mad sometimes. Occasionally it's the Rheumatoid Vasculitis, but that just causes redness on my calves and shins. Different type of itch too. :x Steroids helped at first, but I think they reduced my dose too soon, which is why it's come back. MTX appears not to be helping at all.
Mig, I loved your daughter's poem.
I was at the Nottingham Breast Institute yesterday, having my annual check up. Still all clear thank goodness. At least I have something to smile about.

Oops Kathrine that's Appleroses daughters poem.
I like them both for different reasons ,laptop I can sit in arm chair have the tv on and watch the world go by through the living room window.
The pc was in the dining room on its own desk and had a really big monitor.
Technically has to be the laptop but the pc was really old.
It snowed here at lunchtime thin covering I nodded off when I woke it was all gone now we have blue skies and sunshine. Mig0 -
Morning all..got up to around 3in of snow, there was nothing at 2 this morning when I was looking through the window
OH had to thaw the car to take GD to work...and I am staying put..
Joan thanks for the reminder I have the ice things that go on my shoes, mind you I cant go inside with them.cant get them on and off..but they are brilliant for walks
Mig my other was a laptop ..and I have gone for a refurbished one with windows 7 on didn't fancy windows 8 ..but even so it different a little smaller so I hit the wrong keys..but its bliss having a working space-bar..I heard about the earthquake and its was quite a big one for England
Kath sorry the itching is flaring again..so glad to hear you have the all clear..it must be a worry every time you have to go..
Well like I say staying put today.. not chancing falling..hope you all keep safe and warm..xxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
OOps, sorry! I had seen it was from Christine's daughter, don't know why I said mig's daughter.  Blame the brain fog.

Well today started with the kids being late as Lucy had lost her shoes and Jack decided to wear a pair of trousers he'd tried on weeks ago and of course Suoermum had to sort it all out,
Well Barbara it sounds like your GD is really enjoying her job, how good is that? It is definitely a difficult job and not many enjoy it like she seems to be.
I read that Microsoft were going to stop supporting Windows 7. That is a shame as many prefer it to windows 8 etc.
That was an eventful dinner Applerose! Its a 5 second rule in this house
My new fridge freezer has broken! The one I spent ages reading reviews for. Luckily I have warranty plus accidental damage. I've no idea what has happened but just went to prepare food for yesterday and found the frozen food all soft. We still have the old freezer so no worries there.
Last week the washing machine stopped draining so I put it on a drain programme several times and finally there was a big whoosh noise and its been fine ever since.
We usually spend Christmas with the family friend who sadly died last week but this year we stayed at home.
No snow here nor Earthquakes!

Barbara, we didn't get any more snow but it froze during the night and made the paths very slippy. Most of it melted during the day but the paths which didn't get the sun froze again at teatime. Glad your GD is enjoying the job. It is very hard work but must be so rewarding. Fingers crossed for the interview.
I'm the same Mig. I like having my laptop on my lap with the tv on and a cuppa on the table. I heard on the news about the earthquake.
Joan, I always wrap up warm when I go out. Hope you and Sue are keeping out of the cold.
Kath, I remember now you telling us about the Nodular Prurigo. Do you think they might up your steroids again for a while? Glad your check-up gave you the all clear.
Conversation between my boss and his mum in the kitchen.
Boss - Don't do the washing up. We'll do that.
Mum - But I need to do something.
Boss - So what did the nurse say about your hand?
Mum - She gave me a wrist support.
Boss and his wife together - So why aren't you wearing it then?
Mum - Because I'm washing up.
She is very stubborn.Christine0 -
Hi all, just a quick visit, bit less tired thanks but never sure whether to blame the mtx or not :? ie it's not an every week pattern thing, so who knows. Probably me & my patented 'anti-pacing & paying for it' regime.
Barbara has snowthink we had five flakes yesterday then nothing. Jolly parky though, glad of the log fire in here (tries not to think about gas/elec bills). Glad the laptop is good so far
and that GD has taken to the job.. as you say, not for everyone but it's a good thing there are people that will do it. I think. :?
Glad Kath has had some good news among the irritating these-things-are-sent-to-try-us stuff, sorry to hear the mtx isn't doing it's thing. How do you find taking them? TK, they used to affect you, obviously, wondering how you are prescribed the humira without, when they are so keen on combining them (if you don't mind my asking). Sorry about the freezer! what do you have to do to make life easier  , if there's one thing I hate is researching something and find that isn't the end of it, so to speak.
Hope applerose has had her dinner off a plate tonight instead of the floor (wonder if the 3rd roastie will ever reappear  ), and things do not freeze up again treacherously round your way. Your boss's mum, oh we would get on. Love it.
I did manage to find a copy of my bookin a roundabout way, I will tell you the tale when it turns up & if its ok. So now we just need to get frog's yoga chair.
Not so good, I have found that greenmetropolis.com (I can probably name them under the circs) are closing, which is a pity, I have had some nice books from them.
I have just written an xmas thankyou email  and I am now going to have a boiled egg, for no particular reason, so that gives you an idea how on top of things I am
Love to mig, joan (and sue), & all reading, & back soon; xxx0 -
Toady!!!!!!!!!
I love it 'parky'My first love used to say that
Parky it certainly isAny luck with my yoga chair yet?? I'm still looking. I can see plenty at full price but no bargains yet.
I am glad you have your book sorted and hope it does the job
Christine
I loved the conversation between your boss and his Mum, bless her heart I think she made total senseand the poem was very funny - poor daddy!
I put some path clear stuff out to thaw the snow, but haven't left the hous since Weds
Elizabeth :: Kids eh? Good job you are there to sort them out  definitely supermumHow annoying about your new fridge freezer - I hope they replace it for you ASAP! Wonder 'what was 'stuck' in your washer?? Something I reckon. Anyway so long as it's working.
You'll have to have one pair of shoes with those ice thingies on permanently Barbara I reckon. I stayed put too - much safer that way
I am so pleased you now have a working space-bar
Hi MigI think I preferred the desktop, but have dispensed with ours now and all have laptops or in husband's case an IPAD. Laptop can get a bit warm.....
I hope you at least have no further snow. we had another layer overnight, but if I can I would like to get out today. I'm going stir-crazy
KathT I am so very very very pleased to hear that you are still clearnot great that the MTX isn't doing much
I think it's helping Lucy ok (it better be) and it is what they put in her spine you know when she has her intrathecals
Hello Joan.I hope you are all keeping warm and being careful in this weather. How did Sue get on at the gym??
I am busy sorting out Lucy's charity do ATM
Love to you all

Christine love the conversation reminds me of my Grandma there was no telling her what to dothe snow has all gone now here but 3miles up the rd there is loads ..my youngest son has just come through it..I am still amazed at my GD...the only thing that is getting her down is the money ..
Elizabeth..what a shame your FF has broken..things just aren't made to last these day..but a new one  hope it gets sorted soon..yip you are a super-mum ...sorry you didnt get to spend Christmas with your friend..
Toady..Like Toni I love Parky...not the weather the wordglad you are feeling less tired and you have found your book..I can just think of the place I get old and new books from will come back with it later..January is nearly over so maybe feb will see you more on top of things...something I never am ..yes I love the laptop..thanks to you for all your help..and the battery life is doing well..

Barbara0 -
Afternoon all. Had my usual Saturday lie-in, otherwise I'd never get through the day.
Toady they stopped the mtx in Feb 2012 because I had breathing troubles, they thought it was either the mtx or the humira, and chose the mtx first, but it didn't stop the symptoms. Luckily they didn't sugest going back on or stopping the humira. However the breathing has improved over the past couple of months and is bearable now. I still have an irritating scratchy feeling in my throat but I'm not coughing all day and night like I was. I was expecting the RA to come back with a vengeance but thankfully its not been too bad. Most of my pain comes from my left hip and my OA ankle now, and believe me that is enough!
I'm not sure what is causing my fatigue either Toady as there's no pattern to mine. I think getting broken sleep in the night doesn't help for me.
My Son plays with the washing machine, spins it round and pours water in it so I expect something else found its way in. I also bought 2 new towels and that was their first wash so wonder if it was fluff. Its fine now
I'm still looking for my warranty paperwork and I'm not going to get much time over the weekend as I'm on Daniel duty. We have still got my old freezer thankfully. We had just filled up the new one with macaroni cheese meals which are Lucy's favourites and I'm not sure whether to chuck them or not. I think I should err on the careful side.
The kids have desktops and I think they are much nicer/better but like that I can move my laptop around the house if needed.
I bet you are busy Toni! I think you had already hired somewhere for the charity do? let us know how Charley gets on with her 2nd interview too. I'm feeling nervous for her!
Your bosses Mum won't change her ways. I know my Mum was always looking for things to do.....she would never rest.
What does Mango think of the snow?
It doesn't seem right your GD earns so little Barbara. She's doing a hard days work. In fact it is downright criminal if you ask me.
Hope Joan and Sue are well and Sue is still on the mend. Not sure where abouts in the country you are based Joan but it is PARKY everywhere at the moment.
Take care all, hope to hear from you soon.
