I've been reading your posts but had to catch up on sleep the past week. I fact I wanted to go back today but I've had to do everything in the house first.
Barbara I am still looking out for the space station and yes it has been showing early morning past few days-I'm not signed up for the alerts though. My Son is confused why the google track Santa is still showing as active (he's partying allegedly) and I'm running out of excuses!
Funnily enough Barbara most people I know who've had accidents recently have got a good amount for their car, dare I say even better than they hoped!
Toni my OH should have gone in for plumbing-nobody encouraged him though. He is always cleaning out neighbours drains as we have quite a few blockages round here, probably due to building rubbish being chucked down not to mention the baby wipes!
My boy has his psychology exam today. I had to crack the whip about revision but seems he has done some at last. Lucy has finally discovered that teeth cleaning and hair brushing are good -I think it was Toni who said she'd get there in the end!
AirWave no point eating things that taste foul. its no incentive. I found a few oriental dishes with low calories that actually fill you up so I'm tucking into them.
Still not got any working weighing scales and feeling lost. Still the clothing fits okay although two of my kids needed new school trousers. Dan has to be under a certain weight to go horse riding on his holidays and I so want him to have a go. He's a stone under ATM but I ant to keep an eye.
Joan hoping the carers are still helping Sue and you are okay.
Nice resolutions Toady and hope you can stick to them. Good luck with the blood appointment. I had mine last week and lady who took it has RA so we had a chat. She's early days so didn't ant to say too much.....
Hoping Applerose family have avoided the fires in Oz and Mango is okay and behaving well.
Not seen Mig lately.

Hello all, hope you are feeling reasonably ok. I'm very OUCHY.
Shoulders and back. I took a Co Codamol this morning, which usually takes the edge off. Not today, I think the rain is making it worse. :?

Joan, hope the weather isn't making you stay inside.
Barbara, the space station goes by every day so will be visible most days. No rush to get the decorations away. These insurance companies always seem to take forever. It's not right, is it? I keep thinking I'll start eating healthily tomorrow but keep finding things in the kitchen cupboard. At least if I stop buying treats, eventually there won't be any left to eat.
Elizabeth, the space station passes somewhere every day but sometimes it's morning and sometimes evening. It only shows for between 1 and about 4 minutes so you really need to know the times if you want to see it. Our drains are regularly blocked so we call the water board out and they clear them. The drains are very shallow and can't cope. Good luck to your son with his exam. My daughter is about an hour's drive away from where the fires were and thinks they should be safe enough as they are in a town. Mango is very well. He is a good dog. No problem at all. Hope you manage to get some more sleep.
Kath, sorry to hear you are in pain. Hope the rain stays away and you feel better tomorrow.
Hope the wind doesn't blow tonight. Didn't get much sleep last night with it howling through the pylons nearby. My boss has had a really bad cold for a week now and the accountant was coughing a lot today so hope I don't catch it. :?Christine0 -
Hello Kathleen Elizabeth Christine Barbara and anyone else I missed.
Elizabeth yes the carers are still coming sue has a ex-ray next week.

Hello everyone, hope all are feeling pretty good.
Joan, how is Sue? Barbara, how is your son? Toni, how is Lucy - I don't keep up to date with frogmorton. I'm too lazy.
Had a phone call this morning from our Housing Association. The plumber has had a cancellation, can he come this morning instead of next Tuesday. YES HE CAN. 8) So we currently have a non drip loo.It was just a perished washer. It had split right through. New one on now. Hope it lasts. :?
Still very ouchy, but can't blame the rain today. Although it's very dark, so we might have some soon."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hello all
Not on form this morning so stayed clear, not to bad now..
Elizabeth I think most children seem to go through the not brushing hair, or cleaning teeth..I am now seeing it all in my GC and believe me its seems to come at different ages....anything up top 18ish..bless Dan for watching santa..glad he is still enjoying..good luck to him in the exams...I do think the space station could come a bit later just for us lot..Kath glad the plumber is coming early hopefully he has been by now..my son is doing well thanks for asking
Christine..that is my ploy but OH keeps buying biscuits..glad to see Mango is being good...hope your family have or are settling in Aussie
Joan..glad to see you are getting out with the doggy's..hopefully Sues xrays will be ok next week..
It is sunny but freezing here and snow on the way they say...not just here but south has well roll on spring..still not seen Mig around...xxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Glad the weather isn't stopping you from getting out Joan.
Kath, that was lucky that the plumber could come early. Glad you're feeling a bit better.
Barbara, sorry you've not been too good. Hope you're better by tomorrow. I only have myself to blame if there are things in the house I shouldn't eat. It is difficult when someone else buys them. My sister has problems because her kids have sweets and she ends up eating them. My daughter and her family seem to have settled well, thanks. She hasn't found a job yet but then she's not sure what to do with the kids as there are only a few hours a week available in the creches.
It's been snowing here since mid-afternoon so we are all white outside. I bought some mussels (without shells) for tea today and crunched a few pieces of shell. :? Just had another couple of weeks of dog food delivered. Glad I don't have to carry it home. I'm going to see The Theory of Everything tomorrow. Should be good.
Hope anyone who hasn't been in is ok.Christine0 -
My Aunt has finally lost her battle with her illness last night. She managed to reach her 90th birthday 2 weeks ago but its been many years of being unable to walk and her hands were all stuck so at last she is at peace.
Respite day today so going to retire to my bed.
bucket of hugs and sleeping potion are by the kettle, help yourselves.

Hello everyone, hope all are keeping warm as it's freezing cold. I daren't tell you how many layers I have on.
Sorry to hear about mig, I've put a message on her thread.
Barbara, glad to hear you are feeling better.
Joan, how did Sue get on at the X-ray department?
Elizabeth, so sorry to hear about your aunt. A grand old age, but not much fun if you are suffering - as you say, she is at peace now.
Christine, I hope the snow isn't too bad. Don't want any here, thank you.
Shoulder pain isn't quite so bad today, but it has moved lower down, so have to be careful how I sit in my armchair. The inflammation was higher up before, near the top of my shoulder. Now it's lower down."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Feeling a bit better today ,poor hubby has had the brunt of my grumpiness.
Liver, sausage, cheeseyonion mash ,peas yorkie puds and gravy dig in .Mig0 -
Hullo all, will be in soon for a proper sit down but this wind is driving me kind of nuts.. and have lost chunks of sleep here and there :? ..so am very much hoping it will pack it in soon! Have been keeping up with things here and see there are a few twinges.. and barbara had an off day (well morning at least), and mig has been on the poorly list.. oh dear
, glad to read you have turned a corner.
Condolences to TK on your aunt's passing. It is indeed mixed emotions for elderly relatives whose lives have not been happy ones in later times. Expecting similarly sad news of a cousin's husband. Hope you had a good sleep yesterday, I might have a little nip of your potion myself.
Glad to hear joan & sue had a nice meal out. Weather here was simply awful today but yesterday, when I had to go out, was totally different, I was very lucky. They have messed around with our buses again, so it looks like when/if/ever I feel up to going out & about a bit more, it will be impossible anyway.
Thanks everyone who has left kettles etc going & been passing out hot mash & gravy.Look forward to a nice cuppa and a poke around in the cake tins soon, & a chat with anyone passing. xx

Morning ..freezing but sunny I hope its not slippy....
Joan how lovely to get out with friends and have a meal..there is no holding you two back..hope you have a good day today..
Mig cheesy onion mash sounds so good..would you like to adopt me..your OH is a very lucky man and tell him from me..hope the physio goes well for you ..let us know how you are..
Toady ..good to see you..I hope your cousins hubby is comfortable..that is the least they can do for them...now the buses dont you just love it..they did the same with ours..we only had one that came to the bottom of our rd...and they took it off... I have a mile to walk for one..like you say it can make the difference between getting out or not..hope you feel up to it soon...I need to pick your brain over a comp on Ebay if you don't mind..
Kath I sympathized I have a bad shoulder and the pain is much worse than these blinking hips...the only thing that works for me is ice..hope it improves for you very soon
I hope to get out today...not sure were yet if you see me looking confused and lost bring me back to the cafe please..xxxxxxLove

Hello all, like everyone else, we are having a bright day, but a freezing one. Hope you are all keeping warm and well.
Mouth watering meals being mentioned on here. Making me hungry. We had spam fritters, root mash, mushrooms and tinned tomatoes. Maybe not the healthiest we've eaten, but tasty and filling.
Barbara, I hope you shoulders and hips start to improve soon. Don't fancy using ice at this time of year though.
Toady, not so windy here today. Hope it's a bit more calm where you are so you can catch up on some sleep.
mig, glad you are starting to feel a bit better. Lovely grub, thank you. Can I have a second yorkshire pud please?
Joan, glad to hear you have both enjoyed a meal out.
Got the halogen heater on again as it is so cold. Don't know what we'd have done without it - well actually I do, FREEZE. :?"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Does anyone on here make their own pesto and what do you use it for besides pasta.
It's bitter cold here today.
Watching old Jeremy Kyle shows with a cuppa and choc biscuit with wheaty bag on back.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Mig0 -
Hi, just a quick teabreak... I am wrestling with the Yale lock on my door, the snib button decided to ping off a while back (new lock, well a few months old  ) so I'm in DIY mode ie getting exasperated.
Barbara I will be in again later, feel free to post or pm me about the comp.. (hopefully you will have found your way back from wherever you ended up today by now) hope it isn't ending too soon? can't guarantee to be any use to you but ask me anyway.
Back to the door for me.. then only the doorbell to fix.. and a catch needs to be fitted.. then stop it sticking.. and I'll have one nearly functional piece of my house. Why does nothing work round here, I ask.. well lots of reasons, but things just mostly do it for spite I reckon.0 -

Hallelujahsounds like the sort of place I'd put something, I have a built in chest of drawers where you can take the bottom one out & it's quite deep under, it wouldn't pay me to put things there & forget them but a good hidey-hole I always think.
Hope the asstd. bad backs and shoulders are easing. Sorry I can't help with the pesto mig, have never had it let alone make my own. :? I am dreadfully unimaginative with food probably. I might have what Kath is having but will have to swap the spam for something. Can't have applerose's crunchy mussels either. Will scuffle in the fridge, I have a fake cottage pie somewhere.Hope applerose enjoyed The Theory of Everything & is not too cold, seem to be getting the most snow so far. Very cold here though - but quieter - better night last night, thanks Kath.
Kettle on again, xxx0 -
Elizabeth, sorry to hear about your aunt. As you say, she's at peace now. No more suffering. Hope you are ok. ((hugs)) Might have a little of your sleep potion tonight.
Barbara, thanks for letting us know about Mig. I'll go and have a look at her thread. Sounds as if your neighbour did see the ISS. It is like a bit star and moved fairly quickly. It doesn't flicker like a star or have any flashing lights like a plane would. Glad you are feeling better now. Yaaay, you've found the books. Bet OH is happy now.
Kath, hope the shoulder pain is easing even if it is moving around. Soounds as if you can't get comfy.
Joan, hope you enjoyed your meal out. It's good to meet up with friends.
Mig, good to see you. Still making tasty dinners though. Hope you are better now. I've been meaning to make my own pesto but haven't got round to it yet. I use it from a jar and sometimes put some on top of the topping for a pizza.
Toady, I haven't had much sleep either with the wind howling. It seems to have eased now, thank goodness. Wish they wouldn't keep messing with the buses. It makes life difficult. The same thing happened to my yale lock but I haven't done anything about it. I just put something in the doorway if I go in to the porch or take my keys with me.
The Theory of Everything was very good. Eddie Redmayne played the part very well. You have to admire Stephen Hawking for the way he stayed so positive and got on with his life and his wife, Jane, who looked after him for so many years.
We had snow which froze so it was very slippy but it has gone now. I think we are expecting freezing conditions again tomorrow and then more snow. Just been brushing Mango and play fighting so am now covered in fluffy dog hairs.Christine0 -
Would like to see the Theory of Everything i have read a few of Stephen Hawkings works and once saw a drama on tv about him,my dad had MND over 20 years ago.
Bitter cold here though the sun is shining.Just wondering what to have for tea today not really in the cooking mood.
Why do men moan about the heating bills when its them that leave all the doors open !!!!!! Mig0 -
Morning everyone!!
Elizabeth - I was glad to realise your Lucy is so much better with her hair etc!!! She did grow out of it thenHer hair is like Charley's isn't it? I am so pleased sorry to hear about your Aunty though
Mig I haven't made homemade pesto for ages, but when I did it would go on puff pastry slices with mozzarella spinach and beef tomatoes as well as pasta and a also pizza.
Christine - we've had a dusting of snow too here and it's frozen over. I will not drive today it will be Paul's job :? Mango sounds a proper characterI bet he loved his grooming play-fight!
Toady the kettle is still warm thanksWhat a coincidence! My bro was also sorting his yale!! He was fitting a new one this week - not easy eh?
KathT I am so glad you have your halogen heater there and hope you are warm enough today. I wouldn't fancy icing anything either  Prefer heat atmUsing wheatbag for my back.
Barbara - I hope your shoulder eases soon :? I hope you didn't get yourself lost??I think we can get you some GPS wristnbands and connect them to the café's laptop???
Joan I am so pleased to hear you had a meal out with friendsGood luck to Sue for next weeks Xray.
Love to you all
