    Hi Speedy

Don't tell anyone but just smuggling some extra spoons into school as I reckon you might just be needing some today. Hope you have found this week a little easier though it is still very early days for you. Try and have a good rest this weekend if you can.
I have been thinking of you.

Hi and thank you to Berty, Marion, DD, Julie, Chris, Poppy, Sharmaine, Cris and Iris,

I managed to drop my laptop on Wed morning and it needs a new screen ... S and I are currently sharing one. He is very irritable, very loud expressing his fluctuating emotions and hard work as his ears are still hurting. Can see us going back to the GP.

My boss lied about ordering the ATW equipment (to both me and my classroom assistants,) so it could take another month ... I feel totally unsupported at school. We currently have a fab student and she is a great asset to the class team -none of us know how we will manage when she finishes at the end of next week.

Hope to catch up on the forum news.

Sorry to read about S and the obvious pain he has:( I hope that you can get to see a doc soon and that he gets more help.

Not easy for you either with the strain of work and coping with S.... I hope your good friends are able to help out. :?:

I'm angry for you Speedy about your boss not ordering the aids that ATW recommended.... how very dare he. :x :x

You would be within your rights not to return to work until the chair etc are in place as the boss's lack of action places you at risk in the workplace. You may not want to do that but if you suffer injury or setback that would just be awful. The union and HR should be informed of this and ATW who made the recommendations (which are legally binding on your employer); a disability employment solicitor would dance all over this dereliction of duty under DDA.

I had to do the same when I returned to work last year... nothing was in place and I was being asked to do tasks that were potentially harmful to me post op. The union spoke to HR and told them they were liable and the result was I was asked to remain at home on full pay (cheaper for them than a law suit) while they scrambled to meet their responsibilities.

Think carefully speedy... and don't put your safety & health at risk because of this numpty boss.

    (((hugs)))

    Morning speedy

hope S is not in so much pain with his ears this morning he will have to keep warm, give him a hug from me (((()))

Oh no how annoying both at dropping the laptop and the fact that your boss lied about the equipment, doesn't he realise how difficult it is for you.

Don't know what else to say
    so sending hugs((((())))
    and take care.

    Hi Iris,

I'm hoping to ring the companies myself on Monday and trace when the orders were actually placed ... to get my facts before acting on them.

S has had a really bad weekend and was screaming and throwing himself around beside himself with pain ... unfortunately most of Saturday and night. After a 3 hour wait at NHS drop in - got him some steriod and antibiotic eardrops - lets hope they work FAST!!

Yes DD, he lied!!! Both to me and also to one of my classroom assistants!!! Then he tries to bluff to get out of it. Hence I need to check out my facts. MMM - am having feelings of deju-vu ... the same happened re OH referral ... Sorry you are having a bad day too - seem to be a lot of bad days about.

Thanks Berty - not having the equipment means I am really struggling .... a point he doesn't get at all. I start the week ok but it gets progressively more difficult.

Really hope eardrops kick in quick as paracetomol and iboprufen don't seem to helping much.

Hi I, Marion, Iris and Julie,

S had a better night last night - phew!!! Have kept him off today so we both had a bit of a lie in - lovely! This should give the antibiotics a chance to work. He is calmer today so must be in less pain.

Have hit the phone this morning - equipment that was reportedly ordered on 2/11 was actually ordered on the 17/11!!! If it had been ordered when it was supposed to be I would have it now. I am really cross. Waiting now for advice.

Hello Speedy so sorry to read about your troubles.Poor S I am so glad he feels a bit better today. His pain effects you and trying to calm him down is hard work. Hope today is nice for you both.
Bad news about the laptop too. I cannot live without mine. I did drop mine yesterday, late at night it just slipped as I tried to lower it to the floor, but it is okay.

speedy, I hope you are keeping records of who you have spoken to and what about - I think you might need them! I think the head is truly out of his depth - we expect a great deal from employers etc and sometimes they genuinely do not know or understand their responsibilities - I hope you can get things sorted, and soon. Hi Speedy

Just catching up and what a time you are having! Do hope S is a little better now, that was a scary time for him and a worry for you.
As for your boss well I think it has been said :x but well done on getting the facts and I hope they get things to you soon. Not sure when you are in work this week but will leave a few more spoons and fortitude.
    take care
