Kevin, I know you're obviously a lover of books, ever been to Alnwick? The book shop there is out of this world, it's the old railway station, there's hundreds and hundreds of books, a lot of antique ones too, some at thousands of pounds..
You can sit by the log fire reading them if you like too..
It's a lovely place, if you're ever down that way, would highly recommend it.

Yes, I'm familiar with the bookshop there. On my travels I have come across some excellent bookshops: ones selling new books, ones selling used books and some (such as the one I own) which sells both.
A few years' ago, the Guardian had a series of articles called "Better than Sex". One of the was written by Jeanette Winterson (author of "Oranges are Not the Only Fruit"), and her choice of what was "better than sex" was a bookshop!
Best wishes,

Hi
I'm from Hampshire. I can see the outline of the Isle of Wight on a sunny, day from the upstairs bedroom window. We're a 5 minute drive from the sea. I love it here. We moved here from Dorset about 6 years ago.

Tony, Because we are right on the coast and the gulf stream passes very close by us, we don't normally get much snow (last winter was an exception). However, just a couple of miles outside the village and the roads are full of snow, and on the high ground there is drifting. I'm not going anywhere: I'm going to be working in the shop (when not playing on this forum! LOL) most of the day. Then this evening, I will be relaxing in the warmth at home, watching Mastermind, then the cricket highlights, with a glass or two of warming red wine...
Best wishes,
