HI there every one hope you are all keeping warm and not suffering too much with snow. It keeps trying here in yorkshire, but so far in my part we has escaped. Reckon its gonna be here later today tut.

Anyway as you may remember I had an op on my stump in august to rid of a bursa and a sinius. I have been having follow up appointments at the hosp every 6 weeks and a nurse visits every wednesday. You may remember me saying the smallest hole you can imagine refuses to heal.

Well a nurse came yesterday and all was just the same.
BUT this morning when OH tried to put on my liner for the prosthetic leg I shouted OUCH you are hurting. He tried again and it still hurt so in the end he removed my dressing and there was some stuff come out of the hole.
We managed to get the leg on eventually and he went to work.
After much thought I made an appointment to see doc, I picked up OH and we both went (he has to remove and replace leg)

The doc was annoyed (not with us) that I only see a nurse when I go for follow up apps. He asked when am I going again? to which I replied next wed. He is going to ring up the hosp and ask to speak to a surgeon doctor, he wants him to see me on wed, not his nurse.
My doc says the sinus is still there and now is infected. He has given me bactoban cream to get rid of infection.

Why I am annoyed is last time 6 wks ago I asked to see a proper doc but he didnt come to see me, told nurse it will heal in time. :x

Well thankyou for not falling asleep reading this (oi wake up)
I just felt i needed to SHOUT abit. It is just so inconvenient, especially as I have to take arthur with me.

Will let you know how app goes on wednesday.

Have a goodish day everyone

Juliepf xx

Gordon Bennett. What is wrong with the world? For crying out loud my lovely flamingo, what a ridiculous situation. I am so sorry - this is wrong on so many levels. You have waited and waited and tried tried to heal this damn hole and only now are they listening? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Je suis peeved. DD

I'm not surprised you want to shout at them Julie........I'd be ranting and raving about the lack of proper care!

High hopes the cream will work for you, let us know when you get the appointment with the man himself.

    Love

You should hit em with ya bloody leg, that's ridiculous.. Sometimes all it takes is the doc/specialist to just take a minute themselves but they're way too busy for us unimportant folk..

Hope you go on ok with the cream/appointment etc..
And, by 'eck, ya right lass, snow heading yonder soon....

Goodness , Julie , can't believe how much pain you must be going through ! You are definitely entitled to shout ! I would be in pieces if I had to suffer the way you are . Hope the new cream helps to ease the discomfort a little , and feel free to come onto the forum and shout and scream as often as you need to ! Thinking of you , Jilly

I'm sorry, you must be in quite a lot of pain, a wound like that for you, with your prosthetic leg needs careful treatment. When I was a care assistant, wound and skin care were a large part of the job of trained nurses I worked with. I hope you get really good care and the wound heals really quickly for you. Love Sue

Iris, Elaine Ironic barbara12 woodbon marion tony and dd

You are the people I haven't thanked yet, sorry I have only just seen you.

Tony you are right the leg is heavy so perhaps your cat would be easier  Imagine a wellington boot filled with heavy mud to the top (Skeizer will know this too well with her fields)
It feels like that  I have to pick it up with two hands and it only a below knee. :?

Marion yes I do try to stay strong and get on with things and it is hard at times. My family and you people on te forum help tremendously. I just start to feel ok (a bit cockey) and then something else happens. Ah well thats life. Hope you are ok

I get up on a morning (pains permitting) to take OH to work..
Glad the leg is behaving itself, can I ask, what is it made from? Hope you don't mind.. Think if I had one I would be tempted to get the spray paints out so it matched the rest of me, tattooed just a tad, lol..

Hope you have a great day and a wonderful time tonight..

    well tony not quite sure.

obviously inside it is like a metal pole with a bit on the end for a foot.
Then the cosmetic part is like a hard foam . Reminds me of a khabab before its cut to shape  The foot has a foot like piece that fits like a shoe. Then the whole lot has a skin col stretchy rubbery skin over it that makes it look quite real. Can paint toes too. (there are different skins you can put on to look like tatooes etc.) I don't want to stand out. I look funny enough  It has a heavy gell liner that weighs a bit too that has to be put on first then the leg is held on with a rubbery sleeve. ahhhhhhhhhhh thats my description . you can see why it feels heavy.
