I did my meth!

I shall try a thigh next time - not my favourite area for injecting but my nurse told me to do it with my legs out straight on the bed: that way the muscles are more relaxed and it doesn't sting/hurt quite so bad. I'll attempt that next Wednesday at the hospital - they have a bed there I can sprawl upon! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I got my first jab this morning, although it was the nurse who did the deed this time. It's my turn next week.......
I got the injection on the top of my thigh DD, and there is absolutely nothing to be seen there now. That's the preferred choice for the nurses here - quite glad it isn't my tummy to be honest, and like you, I found it really quite painless.
I feel so sorry for children who have to go through all this though - poor little souls. x:(0 -
I like the tummy as it has fewer nerves - mine especially after the 'slash and grab' I had a few years ago to remove a rancid ovary. The only thing I have to remember is not to inject too close to my tummy button - dunno why but it's what I've been told. Close to my scar is fine tho - not many nerves there and it's 10" long so there's lots of room! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

My wife questions why I don't do meth jabs rather than tablets.
She has been an insulin dependant diabetic for over 30 years,I'm sure I detect a slightly smug look on her face when she suggests it (or is it just imagination!).

I think I am right in saying that the meth fluid is slightly stronger in its effect, hence a smaller dose of it: if you are doing OK with tablets then stick to them, prefab - it is preferable, methinks. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi DD, that is fab news - it will be so great not to have to keep going to the hospital for your stabbings ... especially when they keep you waiting for ages.
You deserve to feel pleased with yourself, sticking a needle into yourself is not a skill that comes naturally!
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
