Morning dorcas, I hope you are coping OK. My mum has arrived so I won't be about as much - I am working today, then doing the final preparations for the season. I am thinking of you, tho, very much. Take care. DD

Morning dorcas, it's Wednesday - are you still on for the draining and steroiding? I am sorry I haven't been in touch, the rhythm of the household is all different now and my time is not quite my own any more. I have been thinking of you tho, very much, and I do hope you can get those 'juicy' knees sorted out! Thinking of you, your Diabolic Damsel.

Thank you so much everyone for your wonderfully supportive messages. I haven't been on the forum for quite a few days and when I read all your good wishes today it really moved me to tears. You are all such great people..thanks so much. x:)

I've had a bit of a knocking about with arther pain and the chest infection on top and it just overwhelmed me a bit. x:roll: so I've been resting up and hoping the antibiotic and IM steroids would start to work some magic.
I am really sorry though that I've not been about. x:oops:

I went back to hospital yesterday and saw the same lovely consultant Dr Gupta. ... she drained and injected my right knee and has told me to keep the next two appointments.. one on the 6th January again at the day ward, when she will inject the other knee ... and the other on the 12th at the rheummy clinic when they will have a review of my PA and consider what the remaining options for treatment are.

I am beginning to feel 'more myself' now.. the antibiotics have worked and the steroids have lessened the inflammation in some of the joints .....so here's hoping the right knee will respond to the additional steroids so that I can walk more easily again.

thanks again everyone..... I really do appreciate your support.

Hi Iris, sounds like the meds and resting have worked a little and you are feeling a bit more yourself. Thank goodness for the kind and sensible Dr Gupta.

S has been really poorly with chest and ear infection too - not out of the woods yet. There are some really nasty bugs about.

My perching chair arrived on the very last day of term, my head delivered it to my room and whisked away his chair at the same time! Quite what he thought I would sit on until I had unpacked and fathomed it out I don't know! Just waiting on the comfy desk chair now. If it doesn't arrive quick I shall be claiming his chair back!!

Keep resting and hope all the joints decide to respond to the additional steriods.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
