    Hi Seamonkey

It is a shame that you cannot find the "enthusiasm" to start the WW meals again. As you say you know all the tricks. My daughter wanted to lose weight but could only get so far, so she joined WW not thinking that it would help her and she has not looked back since. She has stayed her ideal weight for 6 years now. She goes every week to be weighed because she does not have to pay if she does not go over five pounds of her ideal weight. She says there is no way she will pay, so always keeps her weight ok and it is a weekly check for her as well. She has heard from other people who attend that it is quite common for the weight to creep back on after around 3 years of being your ideal weight.

I wish you well with it if you decide to go ahead again.

    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hi All

I think we all know the science behind losing weight - eat healthily and exercise more. The key is to find motivation and sticking to being more active.

I learned to swim 2 years ago and never looked back, I go at least twice a week and also pilates. This is in between working full time and having 3 kids and having RA. True, when I was very poorly before and during xmas, I was less active, but still dragged myself out to walk the school run twice a day and tried to walk a little further too.

I truly believe that you just need to find an activity which is right for you and which you enjoy doing. Then you won't find doing it a chore, you'll find the time to fit it in. I find that eating healthily follows on from this because you don't want to undo your good work and feel less hungry anyway.

Also, if you want to lose weight, don't go for tea at Joan Lawson's place - she cooks lovely food and we always eat FAR too much

    Nxx

    Hi elna,
Thanks for the post, Im trying to cut down more and im not buying in so much rubbish, kids are moaning though! I darednt step on scale though so im just hoping in a few weeks ill notice the difference in my trousers.
Well done to your daughter, we dont have any ww meetings here as on a small island but a weekly weigh in is probably what i need.
Doctor and specialist has never said anything about my weight but im just waiting for it! hehe

This morning I put on a skirt that I last wore at Christmas (I have worn other stuff in between times, I promise!) Then it wouldn't do up, today it does, and has a little room to spare. How? Well, definitely by eating less and trying to move around a little more, plus the odd prod from Mr DD - literally. I told him that when he sees me reaching for another biccy or choccy or glass of wine he was to prod me in my fat bits (he has plenty of choice), but if I was reaching for a carrot or celery or a glass of water, I was to be cuddled. I am fortunate in that I have a co-operative husband, I do know that, but I have been trying to walk a little more in addition to eating a little less, so it's nice to know that I am shrinking, if only slowly. If I can do it, without really trying, I reckon there's a fighting chance for everyone else too! DD

Oh that is good to hear, well done you! It does make a psychological difference, of that I am sure. I hope we can both keep it up - I am learning to prod myself too! DD

There is something to be said for having a little meat on the bones as my hubby would . The key is to do everything in moderation ( a little boring really). i wish i did have a little more meat on my bones...because i am so slim that is one of the reasons i have osteoporosis. So don't loose too much weight ladies but well done.
