Hello Everyone!

Couldn't get on since they changed the format and suddenly found I could get a password reset!

If anyone is still talking to me .......................been back at work since 1st Nov but had week off with a stinker of a cold!

Due to have my 6 mth check up with the consultant on 1/2/2011 and I'm really hoping to get the go ahead for the 2nd op soon.

How's everyone else?

Mike :?:

I'm fine but can't speak for anyone else.

Glad you're over your cold and back at work.

    Hi Mike,

Nice to see you again and so hope it all goes well for the 1st. Not long to wait for that one and hopefully they will give the go head and you will get the dates quite quickly.

Glad you got back. Cris x

Well, it's about bl**dy time! I am glad to hear that all is well, I had a feeling that was so as you so cavalierly forgot us all! It's good to hear from you again, I hope that the not-done hip is behaving itself, and that you and Mrs King are both well. DD

    Hi Mike,

glad you found your way back onto the forum.

So not long now until you see the ortho again. Is your new hip as good as new?! Bet you can't wait for the go ahead so that you can have the other one sorted out.

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Men. Who needs 'em? Fish, bicycles etc.

Mind you, said bloke appears to be disgustingly healthy, so we are not needed. It must be nice to be mended.

Typical bloke. He doesn't write, he doesn't ring, he doesn't drop in to ask after anyone but when HE needs US - well, blow me down, look who it is?

How's you diddling, Mike? I hope you will answer before November. DD

Replied at once! I'm doing well, ta. Remembering to use both crutches and take my pain killers even when pain isn't too bad!

Been a lot easier than the first one - for one thing I can sleep on my back now and don't mind the stockings too much either!

    How about you DE?

I learned in April that I have two sorts of this dross, the PA (which I knew about) and significant OA in my knees (which I didn't, but now I've seen the Xrays, ye gods no wonder those beggurs hurt all the time). I ain't dong too well, truth be told. Glad to hear you are using the sticks and dullers and I hope the recovery all goes to plan. DD

Really sorry to hearv that, DD.

I have a mate with OA in both knees due to playing too much football!

He's waiting to hear back from his consultant - its not "too" bad at the moment but obviously getting worse each day.

Do you know what will happen with your knee?

Hi Mike good to hear from you.

Glad things are not too bad for you and you are able to use crutches to get around a little.

And.....the stockings..... should you be telling us that secret

Take care & wishing you a speedy recovery.

    Mike

PS the stockings was 'cause I made SUCH a fuss about having to wear them last time! Lol, got no sympathy from my wife at all!

I will be chasing up orthopaedics this week, it's two months since I found this out and I have heard nothing. Apparently two new knees may be on the agenda. It's that bad. The damage was quite startling: I have bone on bone on the outside of both knees, plus bone growths which look like coathooks, also on the outside of both. The pain is astonishing, very different to the PA hurts and aches. DD

Oh dear! That sounds pretty dreadful!

The only thing is the worse the pain the more you have to gain, I guess?

I suppose they will do them 1 at a time? Looks as though the waiting time for ops is getting longer too.

I can't remember, do you have someone to look after you after the ops? I to hold your hand before?

    Hi Mike

I am not too bad thankyou.

But I will expect to see you in my pocket on thursday when I see my surgeon to discuss my odontoid fusion and disc c4&c5 op,

    Take care
