Ummmm, joanlawson I must admit I am a little confused: do you mean I should be neutered? If so, by whom? No doubt Rob, being a good 'ole country boy has the means. DD

Never fear, DD, I meant that the cats wouldn't be howling under your window if their owners had done the right thing and got them neutered.

There are 21,000 reasons why people should get their cats neutered - because that's potentially how many offspring could result from one un-neutered female cat and her descendants in just seven years!

I have had that particular tome for years and it makes me smile. Despite this country's reputation for being a nation of animal lovers I don't think we are. There are far too many irresponsible people who take an animal on without ever thinking about the committment and costs involved therein. And the patronising smug smile and comments from said owners when one has the temerity to complain about their feline/canine pets' activities does severely tempt one to belt them hard across the chops (the owners, not the animals). If you think foxes and cats make a row ......

try having two amorous hedgehogs in your back garden

by heck they make a noise!

Mind you, the peacocks (of the feathered variety) were worse when they visited one year!
