oh poppygirl I am sorry that you are having trouble againwith your knee. No wonder you feel weepy and low. You will have expected the problem to have been sorted, and quite rightly so.
I hope the results you get today are good. Will have my fingers crossed.
Have the hospital given you an appointment to start your humira?
    Sending you a hug ((((((((((())))))))))
    Take care

Hi DD, Tilly, Tony and Julie,
Thankyou, Thankyou, needed your support, I'm very weepy at minute, knee is painful but more than that is the disappointment. Just so grateful for your kindness. Tb results came back negative so all looking good, see Rheumy nurse to discuss Humira start on 18/03/11.
Going to put knee up and try to take it easy
    Thanks again Poppy X

    Hi Poppy

Glad the tests came back ok. Sounds as if it won't be too long until you get to start your Humira. Really, really hope it helps you.

    Hi Tony,
Appt is at 9.15, knowing my nurse I'll be in and out in no time! Still the sooner I start the Humira the better. Will be ready straight after my appt to jump into ur pocket with some Irish soda bread, always bake loads as I have family over for Irish stew and bread to celebrate St Patricks the day before.
Hope your knees are a bit better?
    Thanks Poppy X

    Thanks Jaki,
Need lots of good wishes and kindness at moment, my knee is very sore and currently I'm 'wearing' a packet of frozen peas on it along with the pain dullers!
    Hope you are ok?
    Thanks Poppy X

Morning poppy, how are things today? I hope you were able to rest your knee enough (oh I remember the packets of 'knee peas' - they did help tho!) that you have had a better night with some decent sleep and that things have improved. DD

    Hi DD,
Not a great night unfortunately, if it wasn't my knee hurting it was my shoulder! I'm up to take some tramadol, see the boys off and then back to bed. The knee is very red and hot this morning, I'm really getting through frozen peas! they do help though.
Hope you're ok today? hugs Poppy X

Oh dear, a hot, red knee does not sound good. Keep off it as much as you can today, it really is the only thing that helps (in my experience anyway). Me? Well, I briefly achieved the dizzy heights of moderately grotty, which was nice. DD

    Hi DD,Julie,Tony and Barbara,

Ive just been woken from my tramadol slumber by my Rheumy nurse, she rang to say all tests came back ok, and had I had a chance to think about going onto anti TNF treatment or was I ok on the high dose of meth.
Once I started talking I couldn't stop...(I am a chatterbox, those that know me know that!) but it all came out, I was emotional, but held it together and put across my points quite firmly, I've given the Sulfa, meth, knee aspiration, steroid jabs and painkillers a go and I'm still in agony with a knee that you could fry eggs on and fingers that quite frankly you'd find on a Halloween witches costume!, result? she put me through to my Rheumatologist who after I'd brought her up to speed, said I've got funding for Humira and when I go to see the nurse on the 18th it will be to start Humira, they'll do the first jab and sort out all the other bits then.
There all off my chest so to speak. I do feel better knowing I am starting
soon. Off to put more peas on my knee, ran out last night the only thing I had was cauliflower florets...not the best thing, wouldn't recommend them.
Hope everyone is feeling the best they can Love Poppy X

Thats good news poppy I hope the humira helps.
glad you got it all of your chest and more to the point the nurse listened ,then diverted your call to your rheumatologist.
You must feel relieved that you are going to try something else.

Sorry the knee is still not playing nice......
you did make me laugh with the cauliflower florets.......a bit bumpy eh?

    have a good weekend
    take care

    Thanks Julie,
I Really wouldn't recommend cauliflower florets as apart from being bumpy, boy do they start to smell when they defrost!
Knee is still sore, and my shoulder is nagging me but, this weekend my family and I are going to the Isle of Wight, bright and early tomorrow I'm off on the ferry home to see family, I'll take things as easy as I can, I know I'll be sore but I'll be so glad to see my grandma.
Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks so much for all your support.

Take care on your trip to the Isle of Wight. Hope you have a good time.

Are you going on the car ferry or the red jet? Brings back lots of memories travelling to the Isle of Wight for me

Red funnel car ferry, then drive down to Ventnor, and prob straight to the beach to let my 3 lads have a kick about/paddle. Soo looking forward to going home, I know I'll still be sore and prob will pay for it BUT damned if I'm letting 'Arfur' boss me!
Thanks Jaki, take care Poppy X
