Hi,
Just been answering a few posts.......For weeks now I've been very very tired....not zombie like the way some meds have made me but just absolutely exhauseted and falling asleep when I sit down. I'm on diclofenic 75mg x 2...slow release....thats the max dose....I wonder is that making me so tired......I'm going to come off the daytime one and see if it makes a difference.
As for the acupuncture.....its def. making a difference. It eased the pain a bit but nothing anything like Chris {skeizer} she has fantastic results. I had 5, then the 6th one was done by a lady because he was at Uni doing part of his masters degree.....what a difference ...that didnt work at all. The following week I was supposed to see him for a review.....got a call to say he had an emergency dental appt. and the following week he was back at unit and the week after that he was on holiday so the review isnt until 22nd March. Its about 3 weeks now and Oh I'm sore!!!......sometimes you dont realise meds and treatment are doing much good until they are stopped.
Love
Hileena

    Hi Hileena,

Oh flower the acupuncture isn't fantastic... the pain clinic botox is though  Still want it in my face

Tiredness... its not good is it? I find its like a wave and it wont stop but then i don't sleep so good especially just now and also 2 of the conditions have fatigue attached to them if not 3 or 4. Its not easy and I hope yours will back off and you will feel a lot better soon.

pain makes you tired and sorry they have put your review back so far. I haven't yet done the original 6 cus they don't want me there coughing and I am just now so its all on hold. like you the 5th hurt and well i can't say i am too sorry to have it all on hold but it helps keep the muscle from having a spasm so its a good thing in that respect. the electrode bit into the lumber isn't helping and that's what it now is having......

My neck does a really good reaction to the needles but the lumber is spasmodic in its ability to feel so it was never going to be so good. I kinda think he should leave the lumber alone now..... not sure how i tell him that though

Hang in there flower its not too far now.... i think its the same day as I see the gastro, though that might be the day after but either way fingers crossed for you and will be really interested to know what the top ups are. leaving you a ((( ))) and an anti feeling tired draft. Cris xx

    Hi Hileena

I am very pleased that the acupuncture worked so well for you  That is very useful for anyone considering having it.

Shame that the last session wasn't so good and I will be interested to hear what your original physio makes of the change of practitioner....?

As for the tiredness....have you thought it might be something else like a bit of anaemia? just a thought and if you have had it for more than a few weeks you could nip to see your GP?

    Love

Arthritis itself is tiring. The meds can make one feel dopey, the constant struggle of moving does not help and not knowing which is the culprit is confusing. Factor in your disapppointment with the acupuncture and no wonder you are feeling so down. Have you read the leaflet that comes with the diclo? Could it be interacting with anything else you take? Should you ask your doctor about dropping the day time dose - I know I would. The weather lately has hardly helped anyone - it should be a great deal brighter today for most of us, I hope that perks you up a little. I am thinking of you. DD

    Hi Hileena
I agree with Toni, if you are worried go and see your GP and get some blood test done.At least it will put your mind at ease.
I do feel tired most of the time, I think its a mixture of pain and meds.
Sending you some gentle hugs ((((())))).

Hi Hileena, hope your experiment helps, though battling with pain can wear you down too. Shame your next acupuncture is not closer. What is the story/update on your hip/back?

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Chris.....I keep telling you that even if I had botox that its my back....dont think I could get my face in the way of it...you have a better chance :lol:
Its a year last month since my THR and I havent slept properly since then....better now since the diclofenic but still not brilliant.
Well I wouldnt have said that the lumbar treatment was brilliant until he stopped doing it and I can really feel it now. Thanks for the ((())) and the anti feeling tired draft

    Hi DD
I tend not to read the leaflets because they can worry you...{if you are that sort of person  } I only take paracetamol and occasionally codeine 15mg so dont think it is contraindicated with any of those. You are right aboutall the other factors, weather, lack of acupuncture etc I'll try and get in touch with the doc tomorrow

    Hi Speedy,
    Basically the story is.....
    THR last Feb...remember that :lol: {roughly the same time as you}
2nd one due Oct........ 2 weeks before I was due to go in they sent me for an MRI...Why? might be your back....They knew I had OA in lower spine as well as hips?????
Saw a back specialist {who didnt have my MRI results} got me to walk across the floor in bare feet and then sit on the couch and tested my reflexes...,.he then said "Nothing I can do for you except an operation which I dont reccommend" I'll send you to a physiotherapist
Physiotherapist......first week she just talked, second week gave me one exercise to do {bending my knees and rolling them from side to side} next week another exercise....WAIT FOR IT!!!!!!! lie on back, and curl both knees up under my chin!!!!!! even the operated one. next week she said ...nothing is happening {2 exercises.....why should she be surprised} she sent me to the acupunturist.....That seems to be working to ease the pain a bit but mobility is still bad.....waiting for him to review what has been done and see if he will do more...thats about it
    Love

    Hi Julie
    Thanks for the thoughts.....
As some of you know I do avon....but am only doing friends at the moment, I cant traipse round loads of houses and up and down steps to each house so it was suggested I try our front street and the shops. I thought...OK...its fairly flat....then I thought about the hill up into it, and the length of it....no way could I carry heavy books all along there....so I plucked up the courage and used my scooter....I only use it in our large shopping center.....I drove to the bottom of our street, round the corner on to the main road {footpath} and came to a red polo car parked on the footpath....not 2 wheels on footpath and 2 on road...completely on the footpath. I couldnt get round either side of it.....high pavement so couldnt get on to the road and a ditch on the other side.....I ended up having to ring hubby {who hadnt left for work} to come and rescue me LOL Am I going to do that again.....not sure!!!!
    Love

    Hi Hileena,
Well the tiredness is a problem I have been fighting it for a while now but I really think it’s the MTX in my case. Difficult with diclo as if it is allowing you sleep better that reduces the pain fatigue, catch 22 isn’t it?
Sorry that there has been a delay with the acupuncture appointment I hope he comes up with a plan for you.
I hope you can find something to help with your eye problem, all you need on top of everything else.
Hope the arms are not aching too much with the exercises. :P
    Gentle hugs,

Blepharitis? Sounds nasty! I must go and do some digging and add more info to DD's knowledge bank - I guess it's to do with eyes, yes? I am sorry that the forum is a strain for you to use - you are not alone in that. As for me, I am firmly back in the moderately grotty range, so on the whole not too bad! Thank you for asking, it's kiknd of you to remember me when under the cosh yourself. FF (who's she? !!) I meant DD - oooooh, that's better!

    Hi DD
You look it up and explain it to me
At first the gp said go to the optician and he {optician}said it was dry eyes even though they were streaming. He gave me drops that did no good at all Backto the gp and saw another one...she only works once a week and I didnt know her...it was her said blepharitis {think thats the spelling} she said its chronic THERE IS THAT AWFUL WORD AGAIN!!!!!!chronic!!!! anyway she said it could be controlled.
I expected more meds.....no!! she said boiling hot water, clean flannel and bathe them for 10 mins, keep warming the flannel up again....must be as hot as I can stand it. Then immediately after wards.....massage them....starting with the top lid from the nose out wards and do that for 30 secs to 1 min then under the lower lasehes the same thing, from the nose outwards...then bathe in sterile water. To be done twice a day and then once a day once I had got on top of it...Not to use the computer so much
At the moment they are very sore....wern't sore before...just streaming and it looked as if I was crying....due to go back to see her again. So we'll see what she says.
    Love

Chronic is associated with 'very bad' but it actually means 'on-going'. Blepharitis means inflammation of the eyelids. Oh dear, it does sound uncomfortable, I am so sorry. DD
