    Hi there

I'm new to the forum and seriously wishing I'd known about the forum months and months ago - what an amazing group of people giving practical help as well as emotional support. It's the first thing I've come across where I feel like I'm going to be understood and where I can relate to the discussions.

I've been having a couple of blooming tired days & as a couple of folks are saying - go with it. If you were thirsty you'd have a drink, well on our blooming tired days let the body have some sleep, as DD says - it can just make things worse if you ignore it - which means on the plus side...after a doze you might feel more alert for a while:-) It's taken me an age to accept that this is the right thing to do & not insist on making my body be active when it's crying out to sleep. Kinda helps that I'm off work at the moment - spent the morning in bed dozing.

    Wishing you rest.
    Ana

    Hi Tony,
Sometimes we just hit the brick wall don’t we. All our lives we try and work things off then Arthur turns all that on its head. Hopefully things will improve soon for you, roll on the light nights and warmer weather. I don’t think all this shivering is helping much either.

    Take care,
    Ix

    Hi Tony,

    Late as ever.....

    Tired......

yep know that one so well.... I became a zombie a while back and haven't slept properly for longer than I remember. pain is an evil companion but fatigue... hell that one takes some beating eh?!

Like you I am incapable of sleep for more than a few hours and once you wake the pain kicks in so you have to get up...

mind today in my case its done me a favour cus i have to get a sale done and slept through 'a few' calls to wake me earlier.....I say it like its unusual

I try to explain to them i fall asleep round 2 or 3 and then a 5 am call is impossible to wake up to,...... i not sure why it has to be early for the Saturday one but.... going to have to eat humble pie again

Hope you will find some time in the day to catch up with a bit of rest even if you don't sleep. Cris who must go load the car and looking for a hand if your about  xx

    Hi Tony,

I'm sorry, I keep missing this thread but I do hope they can get something sorted out for you soon that'll give you a bit of relief and help you sleep. I'm sure you mentioned Chapel Allerton once. I find them pretty good there. In fact it'd probably come top of my 'Good Hospital Guide' which I'll write someday but then I've actually had longish spells for just physio which is always better than operations - though they're good at them too. Anyway, KBO and all that.

Thanks sticky.. Yep, had my last arthroscopy at chapel about six yrs ago.. Plus one before that but can't remember how long ago that is, then in the mid nineties (I think) had a two week intense physio course as an in patient, complete with epidurals, hydrotherapy etc. pool was nice, all the rest dint do much, after that I was told I shouldn't have been having physio, that's when I started with pain in my hip, lol......
Last arthroscopy was done by Venkatesh if I remember right.. Nice fella..

I assume you're in this neck of the woods then?

Not sure where 'this area' is but by the airport for me.

Venkat? You mean he does surgery when not umpiring international cricket matches?

I was with Prof Bird - one of his first patients - and, before him, Prof Wright. Now he's retired I'm with Dr Andrews. Nice lady. Very approachable.

I always enjoy the physio with weekends off. My last one was during 09-11. Not sure they still have the hydro pool. It might have gone to Jimmy's. I know there was some debate at the time.

I'm not down with the cricket stuff, lol........

I'm over in Rothwell now... Towards Wakefield.

Many moons ago I was under the LGI, prof Abberton.... Big stern looking fella... That's back in my osteochondritis phase.. Lol

Barbara, I will inform you when to start begging,

Tony, my dear friend, I'm feeling really guilty because I've only just seen this thread. I know what you are going though with all the pain and fatigue, but you are a real inspiration to me and many others in the way that you cope and support other people on here. I hope that you will get the help you need on the 18th.

Ouch! Remember life's tough for us England supporters. One minute we're stuffing the Aussies: next minute we're losing to Ireland. (Think LUFC - Champions League to Div 1) And we say arthritis hurts?

The newest knee is great. The other's still undecided. Think it'll have to be fours and sixes for me today. No quick singles. And definitely no piggy backs.

Hey sticky.....I was under proff bird too, but as he has now retired i moved to a different hospital......Proff wright was the one who officially diagnosed RA....You never know we may have been sat next to each other in a waiting room and never known it

    Take care tony
Hope tomorrow after resting today you feel better.
