    Hi All
I am a newby and initially my doctor thought I had sciatica but eventually it was re-diagnosed as OR of the right hip.
I went to the physio and was told to do exercises, but as I pay into a health scheme I also went to a chiropractor, who had a different view point. She recommended the application of a cold pack (bag of frozen peas)for twenty minutes every 2-3 hours this evidently reduces the muscle inflamation and only after a couple of weeks, when the pain had eased a bit, did she ask that I walk for 20 mins. I see her once a week when my leg is manipulated and ultrasound applied.
I am pleased to relate that things have improved in that I now sleep okay with no pain, I can now put my sock on, still with pain, but easing, and I manage without pain killers.
I have now purchased a freezer pack from the chiro for £5 as my wife objected to to her bags of peas being applied to my groin area!!!

Sorry barbara12, I have been AWOL, which won't do will it? I hope you are continuing to feel better, that the hotness has gone and that things are not twanging too badly. I read somewhere that you have had a little trip out to the seaside - I hope you didn't over-do things on the fish 'n chips, ice-cream and candyfloss front. Wot, rock as well? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Barbara,

I have sacrolitis of both hips and also have nerve pain which is more like electric shocks in the middle of my lower back and it is very very painful.

I wish you better soon x
