Shingles

Since last week I've been in agony, a rash started which has kept me awake at night. Tremendous pain in my left side too.
I managed to get in as an emergency at the GP's today. It's shingles so the doctor has given me some soluble tablets and says the pain and rash should subside within 7 days but may take up to 3 weeks to disappear.
It is very, very painful.

Ooooooo Rondetto - that is bad - I hope it is 7 day and not 3 weeks :!:
Hope you have something for the rash and decent pain reliever to help you.
Look after yourself and try to rest and get sleep as and when you can.

Hi Ron
Im so sorry to hear this, my SIL had it a few years ago, apparently the sooner you take the meds the better they worked.
So you did the right thing getting on to the doctors right away, shingle do inflame the nerve endings that is why they are so painful, but the drug is very good.
I hope it subsides very soon for you.Love

Ron just one more thing, I know it is unlikely, but dont rub when putting on the cream.
And get plenty of rest.Love

Hi Ron
Just seen this. Get well soon, Ron, shingles can be very painful. Let's hope you are feeling much better within days rather than weeks.
Take care

Oh I can hear you - ow! Ow! Ooooh! Ouch! Ow! Yes, it is nasty and it can take a little while to settle: I hope, rondetto, that yours soon does. Calamine is good stuff and yes, just dab it on. At least you can use bucket loads of it! I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
