Just thought I would pop in and say that I am not going to be about for a while as hubby has just been admitted to hospital with pneumonia. I have just been sent home by the hospital to get some sleep but I will be back again visiting and I will be there as much as I physically can.

Feeling a bit low and very helpless - dont know what to do for the best or where to start.

I will be back on the forum at some point but dont know when

Jaki, I am so sorry, but as Val has said he is in the best place, and this is where you have to look after yourself so that you are strong for him. Make sure that you get plenty of rest and eat well.

I am sending you big hugs and I do hope that your hubby is well soon and back at home with you.

Oh dear, I am so sorry. He is defintely in the right place, so let's hope he mends sooner rather than later and that he is home soon. You take all the time you need for him and you - we will all still be here when you return. Take each day as it comes and if the whole day becomes too much then take the morning then the afternoon: if that gets too much divide it even further. I wish you both well. DD

    Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for all your messages. Hubby is responding well to treatment and if he continues to improve at the rate he has, he will be able to come home at the weekend. I have different friends popping round to do things for me and to make sure I am looking after myself and eating well.

I just thought I would update you all before I go to bed tonight.

    Thanks again

    Hi all

Thanks for all the messages. Hubby is finally home and things are settling down. I am doing what I can but if its not done then its not a problem. I am not going to try to kill myself just to keep on top of things.

I am making sure that he takes things easy and he is taking his medication as and when he needs it.

Things have been all over the place but now they are getting back to normal. I have missed doing a lot of things but I think now I am more able to get on with doing the things that I want while looking after hubby at the same time.

We have been told that it may take another month before he is back to what can be classed as normal :)

Hope everyone is ok and coping with the different pains and strains of arthur.

I am so pleased for you both, Your husband will make a better recovery at home with you and you will feel a lot better having him home. Just, as you said take things easy, don't want you ending up exhausted. And as you said don't worry about housework it will always be there another day.

Again, It is really good news.

You are so wise do only what you can otherwise there will be two of you in trouble and that wouldn't help at all!

Been to the doctors today and he has had the ok at the moment. He is improving and currently has 98% oxygen in his blood instead of the 70% he had when he was admitted to hospital.

We are both still taking things easy and doing what we can when we can. Thank god for home shopping :)

Hope you are all ok. Will soon be about a bit more I hope

I am pleased to hear that your OH is continuing to improve, let's hope that remains the case, yes? I am sure that being at home has made the difference, hospitals are the last places where a good recovery is possible! You look after yourself too, please. DD

    Hi jaki

I am pleased that your OH is now home and recovering nicely.
Good that you are both taking it easy and yes...supermarket shopping on the net does come in useful.
    Take care both of you
