I've just had a telephone call from my GP....all this business about fratured pevis etc and it is agony!!!!!!!!! ...the latest......
She said "
"I know I said a fractured pelvis but this diagnosis has been bothering me......One of your blood tests {liver} wasnt quite right and all week I've been trying to get a consultant friend in Haexham General Hospital....I eventually got him today and he looked at the blood tests and all the other results and he thinks it might have something to do with your liver???? :???: :???: :???: I would like you to go for a liver scan."
I asked her had she any idea what she thought it was??? Chronic or acute???At least if it was a fractured pelvis it was something acute that would heal.....she said "It depends on what we find.....I had mentioned my epilepsy tablets....she said "Thank you for mentioning that....that is quite possible" anyway she said we wont know until we get the scan and discover if we are dealing with another illness......OH HELPPPPPP!!!!! :eek: thats all I need :eek: About 10 mins after she rang me got a telephone call....it was the hospital.....got an appointment for Wed 20th {5 days!!!}

Love

Well, I don't know about you, Hileena, but I feel quite dizzy with all this and it's not even me it's happenng to. I'm not even going to try to think about how a fractured pelvis can mutate into a liver problem. Just go with the flow and I hope you finally get some answers next week.

Oh I just dont know.......Sticky ...dont know how a fractured pelvis can mutate into a liver problem.
Dont know what a liver problem pain should feel like....nor a fractured pelvis come to that but it certainly does feel like a fracture of something. :???: :???:
Poppy.......the good thing as you say is how good the doctor is and how quickly she is working. If this had been the doc that i had about a month ago or so.....as far as he would be concerne it would be a sprained sacro illiac joint and that would be it,,,,,,he wouldnt think of changinging his mind or trying to check any further.
Yes please.....Toni and Ron.......for piocket duty

    Hi Hileena,

You must be worried sick! Can I ask how the pain all started? Did you fall and that's why they came up with the sprained sacro-iliac joint? Did an xray show a fracture in the pelvis? I'm confused and it must be more so for you.
Did they tell you what they're looking for or what wasn't quite right with your liver results? Sorry, so many questions-your head must be buzzing right now.
I'll be there on Wednesday too, if Toni and Ron budge up a bit

Oh my goodness Hilleena, what a run around. At least your doctor has been trying to sort it out though. Hopefully once you've had these new tests you will know more of what is going on. Mark nyou I feel the same as you how does it go from a fractured pelvis to something to do with the liver. I am sending you lots of big hugs of comfort and I shall be thinking of you.

If you want pocket duties on Wednesday. I'll most def be there for you.

    }Hi Eileen
If anyone is more confused than me they can check the old thread :lol::lol: I thought I was doing the right thing by starting a new thread ....
Anyway how it started...I had a pain across my lower back and it wasn't a pain I was used to...not my normal back pain or my arthur pain but I left it for a while...after a few week when it didnt get any better...in fact started to get worse when to my original gP and he just said sprained sacro illiac, script for trammies and that was it....Not a clue how I did it...that was the most confusing thing of all.
Then my change of doctor came through and she said that I should go and have an x ray.....when that came back she thought it was a fractured pelvis....the next day she sent the nurse to do some blood tests....they came back OK except for a liver one {dont remember her mentioning it} and then she started worrying about it and had she missed something.....thats when she brought this consultant in to check her diagnosis :???: :???: You are probably no wiser now...I know I'm not :lol::lol: I dont think I'll know anything unti I go for this scan on Wed and get the results.
    Hi Karen,
Yes I m getting the runaround  but its better that than my previous doc who would just have stuffed me full of more tablets {trammies at that } and just left me to get on with it.
It does seem to be quite a jump from fractured pelvis to liver doesnt it????I'll just have to relax I suppose until after Wed and then see what happens and hope that meantime the morphine start to work..{pain relief} and the foggieness goes

You've got a great doc there, who has essentially admitted she doesn't know what's wrong with you but is concerned about your liver so has done the right thing in sending you for more tests.

Will be there squished in for pocket duties!

    Morning Hileena,

A lot going on there.. Doctors seem to amaze me at times.. thought they were the ones that knew what they were doing lol..Seems mad a hip pain can be caused by liver.. but then i'm not a doctor...
The good thing though luvie is that they have the ball rollinga nd are doing relevant tests..I really hope they sort something out for you so you do not have to keep suffering as you are.. will be on pocket duties with you..
Your doing a great job luvie of holding it all together...

Aw Hileena what an awful situation, you have really had such a tough time lately. Like me you are so lucky to have a great GP, it makes such a big difference. I am so glad you changed doctors as you would never find out what is going on and would just be fobbed off with painkillers. I hope your appointment on Wednesday goes well and sheds some light on what is going on. I will be there with you and am thinking of you, hoping you will soon be on the road to recovery.

    Dear Hileena

What a shock that call from your gp must have been. It is obvous that you are on her mind and that is reassuring. I can well understand you do not know which way to turn, being diagnosed with something and then in a matter of days when being in great pain, a probability it could be something completely different. You are a brave girl. I would more than likely have gone to pieces. I shall be thinking of you and especially on Wednesday.

Oh Hileena I am so sorry. This just keeps going on and on doesn't it?

But as you and the other peeps have said, sounds as if you have a good GP there and I am so pleased that your referral has been so speedy. I will be there too on Weds (hope you have got big pockets!)

    Thinking of you.

Blimey Hileena, no sooner you adapt to the latest diagnosis than they change their minds. This is must be very unsettling for you. Like you say a curable, treatable condition would preferable. I suppose at least they are persisting with their diagnosing to get it right. I hope you get some clarity soon and the pain starts to ease.

Hi Everyone....I did forget to say.....if you can all squeeze in for pocket duty please do
Hi Debbie and Sticky...it is great to have a doc who admits she isnt sure but she will find out......gives you a lot more confidence.
I cant figure out.....pelvis and liver?????? but I suppose if he's a consultant{that my GP talked to} he must know...and the test on Wed will give us some idea....not sure when I get the reults???
Thanks Jean..... She is a great doc and I am lucky
Hi Cris....thanks for the tea and hugs.....I'm hanging in there LOL What about you? how are you?
Hi Jean...thanks for the pocket duty anbnd I dont know if I'll get any sort of result on Wed.....Doubt it somehow
Hi Elna, It was a shock...so completely differnt {diagnosis} or to the layman anyway. The other shock {although nice} was shortly afterwards the call from the hospital saying your GP wants you to come in for a liver scan.....Can you come in on Wed?
Hi Barbara...that'll teach you not to go disappearing off  You never know what happens on this forum when your back is turned
Thnks sll for the pocket duties.

Almost forgot to mention.......I was stretched out on the settee yesterday eveing {not unusual since I've been feeling like this} and I got up to go to the loo and ws halfway there when i realised i wasnt using my scooter and wasnt as sore as I had been :grin::grin: Still sore but not the agony i had been in. This morning i got up and was sore but it was more stiffness and went {just like arthur} after I had moved about a bit....I'm still sore, still using crutches but not in the awful pain I wa in before {especially this time last week} Thats when I rang the out of hours surgery and she told me to take 5mls of the oromorph and to take it every 5 hours not 4 times a day.
So I've complained enough ...just thought I would let you know some good news

Elna's absolutely right, Hileena. (Can I have a bit of whatever it is?)

I once had a GP who was quite happy to say "I don't know. Let's look it up" & take down some big tome from his shelf. I always found it so encourageing that he was prepared to admit he didn't know everything and willing to remedy that asap.

I'm pleased it all seems a little easier. You're doing great.
