Thank you Joan, Knew-knee was listening ..............in fact I read it out loud as he can't read yet being so young

How are you now after your op because yours was before mine?

Hi Jean, I'm glad I've helped put your mind at ease, if it's any more help I've heard that hips are a less painful operation than knees (though I'm willing to be contradicted on that point should anyone wish ). Having both hips done together will be quite a challenge, I do know because I had both knees done together eleven years ago. But you can do it and will do it and it will change your life for the better. Remember the exercises though, be patient too, don't try to rush things, rest a lot and most of all do as your surgeons and physios say and you'll be striding out before you know it. Good luck.

Thanks so much Lindalegs, I know its going to be hard work but I am trying to focus on all the stuff I will be able to do when I get my new legs (i know its only the hips that are new but my legs are pretty useless at the moment and I see my op as giving me new legs). I am making a list of things I might be able to do in the future that I have never done before and although I am really nervous about my op I am also very excited. Its good to talk to other people who have been through their surgery and know exactly how I am feeling. Hope you are having a good day. Thanks again xx

    Hi Legs

Only just catching this thread but wanted to add my thanks too. You have no idea how your positive and helpful post helps those of us who are rather over endowed in the "wimp department" and are quaking at the thought knowing that the day WILL come however much we try to block it out!!

I know you have not had it easy but so good to hear your words here. So a BIG and heartfelt thank you from me. I hope the new fella in your life continues to bond beautifully with you. He is a lucky fella to have you in his life.
    love

    Hi Legs,

it worked so well I want a tape recording of it please  She don't take much notice of me... think I might be a bit too soft and easy going what do you think?!

Hope Knew Knee is the kind of male that is amenable and well behaved for a very very long time.

thanks as well for giving such a good an positive post about replacements... they took me off the lists cus of the back etc but I know I would jump at any surgery if it were offered and well you prove I should

Now help me get off this palliative care garbage

leaving a ((((( ))))) and another drat for you. Love Cris xx

Hi Jean, I felt just the same as you before I had my knees replaced for the first time, more excited than scared and it was so right to be because before the knee op I was in a wheelchair outside the house. I've walked ever since, even took my new knees gliding ...............not sure Knew-knee and I shall get up to  Keep us all posted :grin:

Hi Chris, I hope to be there to offer all the reassurance I can if it happens for you as will be many others. Do you know I'm still going through it as I said on the other thread I'm not able to stray far from the loo these last two days   Knew-knee is brilliant though, I'm so pleased, he doesn't hurt and is only slightly swollen now I even did 20 minutes on the exercise bike on Monday ............so we have bonded :grin:

Hi Cris, the draft seems to be working as I'm able to sit and type today - though my botty is sooooooooooo sore  Pity you can't have an op ....some of us don't realise how lucky we are do we? Palliative care ................what are they giving you smarties?

    Luv

It's good to hear you sounding so bouncy, legs, very good indeed  . I am sorry about the botty tho, that must be uncomfy. I hope that whatever is causing that soon goes. Look after that 'new man' whilst making him your slave! I wish you well. DD

Oh dear, I do empathise. As if you don't have enough to deal with. I hope the two-bobs have sorted themselves out but as for the other . . . . well I guess that will ease as you become more able to move around and rest a little less. How about sitting on an inflatable ring? I believe that eases the pressure on the cocyx, would that help? DD

    To let you all know.

My runny grotty botty has taken a turn for the worse, plus headache, plus slight temperature, no appetite since op. Food turns my stomach. Doctor on her/his way so I shall be signing out for the time being

    How's it going, Legs?

I'm here hoping the magic has worked and you are feeling more like your old, unrunnybotty self. But I also tend to feel if that were so you'd be here sorting us all out.

If it'll help I'll do your leg exercises for you for a while. Can't manage the 120 degree bend though. We'll have to settle for a bogstandard 90.

    Hi All,

Knew-knee is absolutely wonderful and just has a little scab left from the wound infection rather like a big wart which gets smaller each day. Bend 120 deg and straightens beautifully too.

    I have my 8-week check-up on Monday.

Tummy appears to be improving at last but have been laid up with it for last few days. Will post further on my 'Oh Poo' thread to save repeating myself (in case you're interested  )

Thank you for your concern peeps .............means such a lot

    Love

Hi Legs so pleased your new knee is doing very well.Hope your tummy troubles clear up soon.I was at sports physio two days ago had deep massage behind knee and thigh.had to bite my fingers as it was agony. After the sore bit a support was put on my knee it had magnets on it had my legs put in tunnel .This was fine pulses sent to my knees for 25 mins, this helps swelling. Was given few exercises to do at home, basically same as your good self posted.Going back weekly till op as it will help to straighten out left knee. Thanks again.xx

    oooh legs

just been catching up and i am sorry that things got worse and you had to call out the doc.

Glad to hear though that now the tummy is improving.
(I had to sit on an inner tube that my oh brought home when I had my leg amputated ) I did eventually get a special cushion when the district nurse saw what i was using.
    Hope your soreness has improved.

8 week checkup....blimey that has flown
hope your app goes well and they are pleased with the results of your op.
(I know you will be a star pupil, you have worked so hard  )

    Take care

Hi Diamond The electric pulses and magnets sound interesting, good luck with the exercises, keep them up and you'll get it straight in the end. You will be dancing again ...................maybe Strictly 2012

Hi Pink Flamingo I am much better thanks but the 8 weeks have dragged for me with all the blips I've had to put up with, still I'll be interested to see what they think of my progress on Monday

Elizabeth, I am aiming for the hurdles, long jump and high jump doing my frosby flop
