Underrated Pleasures

I thought about this earlier: I put two things on the happiness thread earlier then decided that no, that was too strong a classification for them, they should be listed under the above title. Here are some of my underrated pleasures - do you have any?
Starting a new bar of soap.
Breaking the foil seal on a jar of coffee.
Filing a ragged nail to smoothness.
A glass of filtered cold water.
Putting on a clean AND ironed Tshirt. (nowadays mine are usually just clean)
Putting away the weekly shop.
Managing to stop the petrol pump not on £19.99 or £20.01 but exactly £20.
Having a wee when I am busting.

Can't fault any of those DD and Val, new bed is a real good one, I like going out on a really forsty morning when no one else is around and putting bird food out and having my freind the Robbin come out of the bushes and feed off my hand.
I also loved being up over the back hills walking the dogs when the sun is setting and there's a cold wind blowing and the fields are covered in snow and so are the dogs!, brrrr lovely in a way!.
I also love a roaring log fire of a cold winters evening, we are lucky to have one in our house, wood burning stove that is.
Also sitting in me favourite snug in the pub with a pint, heaven!!.
Flying my glider with the local red kites, they follow the plane like it's one of them bloody love it.
Having a laugh with all my friends on here!.0 -

Bringing in clean washing off the line - lovely smell you just can't get with the tumble drier

Cracking my spine, and the wonderful but temporary relief that it brings
Rubbing alcohol gel into cuts on your hands (and the freak returns)
Managing to nibble all the chocolate from a malteser till it's stark rollock naked, then eating the centre, bliss...

Good call!
I should have mentioned that one! 42 years old now and still getting work done! Had about 40 hours in the last couple of years on my full sleeves.
I love the pain too - it's therapeutic for sure.
OK, I'm going to add Chiropractic sessions too after seeing you mention cracking your spine.No-one was injured in the making of this signature, however, quite a few electrons may have been inconvenienced.0 -

Watching my budgies (sad I know but I love them)
sitting down when the flat is finally clean
listening to the seagulls while lying in bed

Starting a new painting: I love taking out a new sheet of white paper and deciding what I'm going to paint on it.
Mixing up the paint, and seeing how the colours change.
Using my favourite brushes.
Having my hair washed and cut at the hairdresser's ( always cheers me up )
Filling the bath with lots of scented bubbles and lying back to soak in the water.
Switching on the computer and finding an email or PM from a friend.
Stroking my cat when he sits on my knee. Listening to him purring, and snoring when he's asleep.
Eating a meal cooked by someone else.
I like this thread DD. It really makes you think about the good things in life.0 -

Blimey! I thought this little idea would die a rapid death but no. I forgot the clean bed one but quite a few of you mentioned it - it is obviously a common experience. I loved traluvie's one of cleaning marks you hadn't spotted until you started - so true!
Cleaning the bottom of our taps with some cream cleaner and a toothbrush.
Ditto grouting and window frames.
A good scratch.
The first sip/gulp of tea in the morning.
The hang-over relieving McD's chicken, chips and coke. ( a rarity now)
A new hurt of some sort (until it becomes a pain too far).
Listening to rain in a caravan roof (or a Velux window).
Watching a fire in a domestic hearth.
Feeling properly tired as oppposed to an arthritis tired.
Being able to wipe my feet on a doormat. (usually I can't, it's one of the humira highlights!)
A damn good cry.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
A good pint in front of a roaring log fire ( a double pleasure)
Autumn mornings
Smell of fresh bread
Sucking the chocolate off plain chocolate Brazils
Loading and unloading the dishwasher (sad aren't I ?)
Smell of roasting coffee
Unpacking at the start of a holiday
Dozing after a busy day
Clearing up after doing DIY
Feeling the warmth of the sun on my face
COMING HOME...................''Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy''. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)0 -
Staring into the garden & watching the woodpecker & finches eating the nuts & seeds
Cherries
Discovering I can lock the public loo.
Field poppies
Being invited, by a young child, to do something that has been utterly impossible for years because they have no concept of my not being as able as they are.
Capturing the essence of a moment with a photo
The post op words “Wake up. It’s all over” when you hadn’t even realised it had begun. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Not the fastest in the world but not too bad either.
Even the phone is quicker now when I'm using the house wifi..

The 'crackle' of a feather duvet. It sounds as though it will keep you warm, as indeed it does. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

sounds really daft, (just like me) but, using a letter opener.. It's SO much more satisfying than ripping an envelope open.. I mean, what are we, savages? :shock:Me-Tony

Blimey, there's posh. I guess the Tetley's is in bone china and Ra's bowl is solid silver too.
I was going to put an even that happened today on this thread but I think it's better qualified for the happiness one. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
did I not mention that my letter opener is the only knife that we possess as we are so very poor and far from posh. Lol
Ra on the other paw has platinum and diamond bowl.. :roll:Me-Tony

That is just brilliant! I love ours - it's one of the bestest things we ever bought and I just love it so much that one of these days it may have to be surgically removed.No-one was injured in the making of this signature, however, quite a few electrons may have been inconvenienced.0 -

Yup, some of us can get quite savage at times. Just ask Mr SW.
Picking up the highlighter pen or glue stick, after months of non-use, and finding it still works. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
