Well this is it folks, I am all packed and ready to go. Finished work today and am off for TKR tomorrow. Feels strange that I have done my last day of work for the year but I am pleased am I going to be feeling stronger soon.

I hope you are all well. See you on the other side xxxx

Wishing you all the best, Sarah. I specialise in new knees. Never had a bad one yet. Hope yours is as good.

Breakfast in hospital is indeed free but lovely? Well, if soggy cornflakes are your thing.

Let's know how you get on.

Just wanted to wish you all the very best for tomorrow, Sarah and for the days to follow. Be a good girl and do as you are told and you will be fine. Do let us know how you go on, quite a few of us have had new knees so do not hesitate to ask anything, however silly, you think it may be and we will support you and offer advice.

    Look after yourself,

    Elna x

I hope it all goes well and that it does the trick: it may be a while before you find out whether it has done so, but I am sure it will. I will be thinking of you and hope to hear from you soon. DD

I had a short stint in the Radcliff and I must say I liked the food really quite nice, anyway enough of me ramblings good luck and get as many strong pain killing drugs as you can, as the old saying goes, " reality is for people who can't handle drugs!".

    Take care!.

Hi all, thank you for your lovely messages. The op went went, very surreal (I think next time I'll take ear plugs!) but the surgeon was pleased with it. And after his misgivings about my age he said as soon as he opened me up and looked at the state of my knee he knew it was the right thing to do which is positive in a way. I really appreciate all your thoughts and well wishes. I am now at home, the proud owner of a rather purple leg and a lovely pair of stockings, but doing well.

    Thanks again, xx
