Our lovely girl begins a week of intensive physio and hydrotherapay on Monday and she is looking forward to it very much indeed. She has been having a really rough time of it now for far too long: the rituximab is wearing off, she cannot have another infusion until her chest trouble has cleared, the flushes and shivers are still a major problem but, as doughty as ever, she is planning on doing the full week. She was given the choice to stay in but has instead opted for daily trips there and back, which, when I think about it, makes sense: if there is one thing worse than removing a cold wet cossie then it's putting ON a cold wet cossie. At least she will be able to dry it overnight!

Good luck, tilly, I hope that in 168 hours time you will be looking back at a good, positive and helpful week of treatment. ((())) and a smidge of love. DD

Thankyou dd for letting us know about tilly

    Hi Tilly.
I am sorry that you are still suffering from the flushes and that you have had to stop the infusion due to your chest. I really do hope your chest clears soon.
Good Idea I think to go to physio everyday rather than staying in the hospital, atleast you have a better chance of a good sleep each night.
I hope the physio and the pool helps.
    Take good care
Love and Hugs Julie pf xxxx ((((((()))))))))))))

Thank you so much DD for starting this thread - and thank you to Tracy, Joanlawson and Juliepf for your kind replies.

As DD says, I am very much looking forward to it and I feel much happier now that I am going in each day. And that has only been made possible by my wonderful husband who is going to drive me there each day (at least an hour each way) and work from the hospital coffee shop.

    Thanks all.

    Love Tillyxxx

    Hi Tilly,

I am sorry the continuing sweats are still coming at you thick and fast. I can really sympathise with that one. Thank goodness you will be able to get there and back every day and your lovely hubby will be with you.

Fingers crossed for you but I am sure it will be of great benefit for you. They may be able to pass some other information to you while you are there to help you with the other problems, I do hope so anyway.

    Gentle hugs,

    Lv, I x

Right, I've done a checklist for you, ready?

    Wet suit.
    Snorkel.
    Mask.
    Oxygen tank(s).
    Flippers.
    Diver's watch.
Diving knife (in case you get entangled in trawler netting).

That's for the physio, now the hydro needs:

    Pants.
    Shorts.
    Bra.
    T shirt.
    Socks.
    Trainers.
    Energy bar.
    Bottle of water.

I've heard from Tilly - she has had a mixed bag of a day, but it was mostly good. Today was the exploratory day - for both her and those working with her. The physio nurse was wonderful, very kind and careful, and as for the hydro, well, Tilly did not want to leave the pool! As a result of today's efforts dormant muscles are making their presence known (which is probably not a bad thing, especially with the osteoporosis to be considered) but she is happily going back for more tomorrow: and next week too!

She also discovered today that there has been a great deal of help available to her but somehow no-one had told her. My thinking was that everyone else was assuming that everyone else had told her what was there but in fact no-one had: 'tis easily done I suppose, even though it should not be. After phsyio and hydro tomorrow she will be seeing an OT and this can only be a good thing.

Tilly? You wanted it, you've done it and I for one am very proud of you. The unkown is always daunting but, by crikey girl, you've tackled it and won. I shall be thinking of you tomorrow and I hope it all goes equally well. (Just don't overdo things, OK?) DD
