Another op for Poppy tomorrow?

In theory, and hopefully, in practice, our lovely Poppyg1rl will be going in to have an operation on two finger joints tomorrow and I know she'd welcome support from everyone.
The reason why it's not certain is because she's flaring again, with ribs and breathing affected. Poppy, as you know, has had the year from arthritic hell and I know you'll all, like me, want this to be the start of something better for her. She's being very stoical (When wasn't she?) and philosophical about tomorrow but, of course, what she really wants is to have it done and be able to get on with things.
Let's will her through this op and out the other side. Good luck, Poppy. I'll be thinking of you.

I've just heard from her. They wouldn't do it today because her oxygen levels are too low. Her rheumatologist is coming to see her and then she's hoping to be allowed home.
I'm so sorry, Poppy. I know you really wanted this to happen but I, for one, would rather they were over-cautious than not cautious enough. It will happen when you in better shape physically. Meanwhile, the usual, boring advice from me - rest, rest and rest again. And a few of these ((((())))).If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I can only re-iterate what SW has said: rest is vital and yes, the docs are right to be cautious. Resting properly is crucial to continued well-being: it is not copping out of life, it ensures that we can still participate to our best levels. Please be kinder to yourself my lovely, and rest as hard as you can! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Oh bless you and huge big hugs to everyone of you lovely people.
There's a lot to say but i'll keep it brief, I will get my finger joints replaced but at the moment they need to sort out the ribs/breathing pain. I've new meds, and have until 7th March for Enbrel to work successfully, if it doesn't they'll switch me to Golimumab. Rheumy ordered a bone scan and possible surgery on the ribs all depending on what the dexa scan reveals.
I'm so sore, tired and I'd love a good cry although I can't, it hurts to breath nevermind cry...
I'm going to try and sleep, rheumy increased the amitrip to 50mg, and gave me morphine patches to try, with a bit of luck it'll work and I'll get some rest.
Thanks again my friends, I couldn't cope with your support. Xxx'grá agus solas'

I'm sorry that I didn't see this sooner, Poppy. I do hope that your breathing will improve and that the new meds will work for you. You are very brave in the way you cope with everything. Sending you my best wishes, and a very gentle hug.(((( ))))
