    Hi everyone,

    We were told to prepare for my father's death within a few hours. He is still fighting, but has had a heart attack, fluid on the lungs, MRSA and a damaged heart, and been starved of oxygen. He is still fighting on, but I do feel that all this is the fault of the hospital in his old ward, for not removing his cathater which was infected. He has had a little soup and some ice cream today, plus a protein drink, and my brother is going home tomorrow, and my son and his partner left yesterday, but we have been told not to build our hopes up and to prepare for the worst.

    You cannot know how much everyone's good wishes mean to me, and I am crying as I type this.

    Just to let you know things are a little better. Dad has had some porrige and soup for lunch. On Friday we were told there was no real hope, but when the doctors see him Monday I am praying for better news.

    Your thoughts and prayers have made the difference, I am sure. Thank you so much everyone. especially Our webmanager, all the mods, Poppy,val, Del and rehab, DD....too many to mention, who have been so kind. Love back,

    I have been in the hospital for 5 hours today. The doctor now sounds more optimistic. He was quite certain dad wouldn't make it, and was so pleased to see the progress he has made. I fed dad a pureed meal, and he ate all of it, though he couldn't finish the pudding. He is also having protein drinks, and pottasium. They also took his cast off his leg, so he is now more comfortable. He still can't eat or drink by himself, though, as he is too weak. We have also been warned he could take a heart attack at any time, and his heart is still weak. I am certain that he survived the worst due to so much goodwill being sent in his direction for which I can only humbly thank you all.
