Hi all,
Dad is still improving, though he gets tired around noon, and his mind starts to wander. They are now trying physio with a view to discharge once they have got on top of the heart and kidney problems, but he is well enough now to know he isn't as he was, and is talking about dying soon. I so hope he is wrong.
My brother and his wife and their grandson and daughter in law are all down to visit him, so I may even get Sunday off, but we are all meeting up in the hospital cafe tomorrow morning.
Take care everyone, and bless you for your good wishes.

This is the first day I haven't visited dad...my brother and family went today, but my brother has just phoned from home to say that he was very tired and wandering - mentally not physically of course - so I feel guilty. I did want to do some cleaning, though, as the house is a complete tip. First I was really ill, and then dad.
I am going to see him tomorrow, of course, and will let everyone know how he is getting on.
Thank you again.

Hi Jean
Isnt guilt awful....I think women are worse than men  if we dont feel guilty we feel guilty about having nothing to feel guilty about
You have to look after yourself as well......otherwise you will be no good to anyone.
Thinking about you and sending ((((())))))

Hi Jean. I'm quite new on here but would like to add my support. When my husband was diagnosed with his mental health problem I went through what you are going through. You want to be there for the person you love but you shouldn't do it at the expense of your own health and sanity. Look after yourself.

Sorry Jean I have not been in for a while so have missed this. I do hope your dad is making steady improvement and is slowly getting some strength back.
Please don’t beat yourself up for not being there everyday with him, we do need to take a step back ourselves at times like these. I was lucky and had my brother to take alternate days whenever possible so I do understand the guilt but you must have time to take a break as you really do need to recharge and take stock. Even normal duties have to be taken care of and it does distract you for a few hours which is what you need.
Hugs to you and yours,
Lv, I x0 -
Still thinking of you, Jean. Hope things are as well as they can be.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I have just been told that dad is not likely to make it, so will probably not post for a while - but will be looking in.
Please continue your hopes and prayers for him. I can only hope for a miracle, and I believe the power of the collective mind is strong.
Poor dad is having panic attacks, and I spent some time with him today just holding his hand and comforting him, then he would sleep exhausted, only to wake with another attack.
