Has anyone seen my spoons?

I dunno where they are. Some of you may remember that last October I had a spell without humira and meth due to a nasty throat infection, but I was taking my other meds, anti-biotics and the occasional boost of pred. I felt fine, better than I had in ages, then resumed the injections and thus returned to the general murk of arthritic life. Thanks to a very nasty tummy bug I have had another three weeks without humira and meth, and a week without the tablets - and NO anti-biotics and NO pred. The BP meds, suplh etc are gradually being re-introduced and yes, I felt fine until Tuesday evening. But now?

A flare. A biggie. Despite taking the humira on Sunday evening my PsA has kicked off in some style. I spent all day yesterday in bed, mostly asleep, today is probably going to go the same way though I think I am feeling a little better. I reckon I'm in that danger zone of thinking 'Hurrah! All done and dusted!' then I go and make a cup of tea and I'm zonked again. What a life. At least the OA has had the grace to subside (well, probably not, I just can't feel it as much as the other) but I know what I need to be doing and I shall be doing it, viz. nothing. Nowt, zip, nada, de rien, that is the only way to get over this. Right, time for another zizz and if anyone trips over some spoons somewhere, please send 'em to me ASAP. Ta. DD

(For those of you who are not familiar with The Spoon Theory googbingjeevesask it now, it's a good 'un.)

Sorry to hear you've lost your spoons , DD , afraid I'm keeping hold of the couple I have left as need to keep some energy for an evening out ; seeing Billy Connolly at the brighton centre . How about I send you some spares tomorrow as I will be spending friday resting ? Might need some back at the weekend though as all the family are visiting on sunday ! Just not enough spoons to go round at the moment are there ? Hope that resting helps and you begin to " unflare " . Jillyb

Hi DD, you are most welcome to some of my spoons, although they may be rather flimsy plastic ones at the moment!

Hope you fill your cutlery drawer again soon

Thank you one and all for the variety of cutlery that has winged its way to me. I am up - :) - dressed - - and about to undo all my good work of the past couple of days as I have to work. :( I have one lesson, then a break then the second one. Dinner will be an easy one then I can crawl back to bed with a huge sigh of relief. In view of having to work may I have a couple of ladles, dachshund? :) I know, I'm a cheeky mare!

Del? I'm hanging onto my gifted spoons, sorry mate! I hope you can gather a supply from somewhere. DD

    Hey DD

Sorry you are struggling so much my friend and hope you manage your work.

With all the cutlery flying around, I have this wonderful mental picture of DD as one man band - drum tied to foot, playing the spoons to the tune of "my ole man's a dustman ...."

Hope this orrible flare passes soon DD.

    Thinking of you lots.

I don't think I'm at the spoon-stage yet, DD - so you can have loads of mine.
Sorry to hear you're poorly again and get well soon!
Don't you just love Tilly's mental picture of you though?! :D

Alas Julie, no. It worsens. :( I've woken with a doozy of a sore throat so I have decided to wipe out the week-end, as fas as I am concerned it won't exist. The pain is head-to-toe despite the blasted humira and meth (usually it's just waist-to-toe with occasional above-the-waist happenings) so that is making life far too unnecessarily tough. My neck is full of a curious mixture of sand and gravel and IT HURTS. Like Del I too am scweaming and scweaming until I am thick. :x DD

Thank you my lovelies, I am not doing at all well so all hugs etc are gratefully received. This is the roughest I have been arthritis-wise for some time so it's a salutary (salutory?) reminder that the damned drugs do do something to control things even if I can't truly feel a difference when I'm on 'em. I'm sure he could, Folara, but to be honest I don't want any more meds, I'm juggling enough as it is. I tend to be rather fatalistic about things like this, I have arthritis and this is what it does, so all I can do is get on with it. :) I'm fourteen years in and used to the ups and downs (the latter far outnumber the former  ) and I know it will pass as all things do. The throat is yucky this morning, breakfast so far has been a gut full of pills and a Strepsil! I should go and boil an egg but I am too tired to bother. :) Hey-ho my name is DD and I have arthritis. Yawn. Snooze. Snore.

Thanks to the inclement weather the blasted OA has woken up. I have no idea what to do to help matters. Not a bl**dy clue. Never mind, the hours will tick by, they always do and hopefully daylight will make things a little better. And if it doesn't, well, there's always Monday. DD
