Hello Heather and so sorry for coming late into this thread.
I am so sorry things are so difficult for you but, reading through what you have said, it sounds as if you now have a "plan" for trying to move things forward. I really do hope so.
You mention osteophenia - might it be osteopenia? My understanding is that osteopenia means lower then normal/average bone density, but not low enough to be classed as osteoporosis.
Thinking of you.

Hi Tilly
Yes I've got osteopinia......its not as bad as osteoporosis but your joints have a lower bone density than the normal {???whatever that is } person
My doc treats it with life style changes.....some docs prescribe meds for it.
Love

Hi Heather,
My eyes are not too good so someone else may have already said this but mri's only show exactly what they have been targeted at.
In a backs case they show the cord and the gaps between the vertebrae (ie the discs) and the root nerves and that's about all they do show so it doesn't mean for one min that nothing is there.
I got extra bone growth all over the back but only some of it shows on mri's. The view is a cut trough so doesn't show the whole pic at all. have you had x-rays as they do show extra bone.
Neither will necessarily show the peripheral trouble with the nerves it soft tissue.
See what your gp says but your not making it up and its not just in your head. Cris x0
