    You honestly do get used to them (to some extent at least!). I've been wearing splints on my wrists on and off since I was about 13 (now 26). They're not the easiest of devices but I find that when my hands are very painful they are a real godsend.
    Twenty-something mother, home educating my wonderful son and currently TTC.

    My particular flavour of arthritis is yet to be confirmed

    and I was looking forward to a tassle-tastic night :lol:

    My splints sound very similar, I've some metal inserts and also some moulded plastic ones for the crutches..
    Hope the kids didn't mind the off the shelve ones hun :wink:

    I chickened out :( . I think I need to be feeling 'better' about them myself so I can be confident about being around others. My fingers are currently fizzing so I guess it's time to splint up then I shall Clatterate to the Co-op to buy a paper. Hope I don't get blown over - it's very gusty here! :lol: DD
