Gulp. I'm being wired up and made to twitch (hopefully) like an extra for Riverdance on 29 June, a week this coming Friday. Yikes. Gulp. I dislike the TENs sensation, from what I have read this would appear to be TENs on a rather larger scale. . The Beige Beauties (me splints) are definitely helping but I guess this has to be done. I'll be honest, I'm not looking forward to this. In the words of the great Penelope Pitstop - heeeyuulp! DD

Wired up and made to twitch  I thought the Texan Feds must have found you one of their special chairs.

Fear not, my old mate. You will have a large motley bunch of us queueing up to hold those Beige Beauties of yours. (Cripes, you did mean the splints, didn't you   )

Have a nice reward of your choosing ready for afterwards.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    ooh er Sticky

I'll be there too DD. When I had nerve conduction tests I don't remember feeling very much (and not cos there was anything wrong with me nerves  ) and I don't remember twitching either and it was over very quickly.

I know you are not looking forward to it but I am pleased you haven't had to wait to long to find out what is going on with them thar hands of yours.

    Tillyxxx

Ooh DD, I must say I don't envy you! From what I remember of my test, it didn't hurt, but it was a strange and unpleasant sensation!
I will be in your pocket, and may do a little dance routine to try to distract you when they plug you in!
    Fondest wishes,
    Numpty

Thank you all, I appreciate your kindness in replying. I've been told that it doesn't hurt but I gather that it will be an unusual sensation - thank you for confirming that Numpty! The letter said that it will take from 30 minutes to an hour, I'm not usually one to get her drawers in a twist but this one has come at a rough time and I'm flustered.

And as for you young Sticky, them's aint beige, them's creamy! DD

    Hi DD,

The conductor test I had was no worse than the electric fence if even that so if we pop up and connect you to it a few times you will sail the test conduction with ease

Oh what a thing to threaten you with.....what a way to threaten you

Seriously flower they are about the same as a tens turned up. You will be fine and will be in your pocket. ((((( ))))) and tea with side dish of hopes and don't feel the shocks. Cris xx

Skezier, no, no, NO! :o TENs tiurned up? I think I may run away. I dunno what's up with me, normally I take these things in my seriously-reduced stride but this has got my goat. I know I'm too cross, that's the reason why. My knees are 'clunking' with every step, the ankles are not that far behind, I no longer have toes, just sausages, my bl**dy fingers are numb, my neck has half a ton of rock crystal inside it, you know what? I'VE HAD ENOUGH. b005.gif

But, on a more serene note, this will pass as all things do. d025.gif DD

PS Heather? I'll PM you, I promise.

Never felt a thing!' I bl**dy hope so. :( I know that everyone's (be warned, the J word is coming up) arthritis journey (yes, OK, you can all groan now) is different but at the moment I am phacked off to the back of beyond with mine. Today ia a better day, well it is so far. I have my straighter head on and have no doubt that this little adventure will be OK - and I can tick off another hospital department from my list (but I'll never make it to Maternity  ). It's always the little things that throw one, yes? DD

That's good. Stay positive - at least until it's imminent  I've told 'em to disguise the electric chair. It will now resemble your favourite bar stool.

What, the one I regularly slide off? :D I can hear echoes of the correspondence between Mr A N Optimist from Messrs Tartitupp & Floggit and Mr SW's representative  - I wonder how Miss Cilly Dithers is getting on? Right, I must get my Tuesday underway, somehow. DD
