I've been wondering that, Numpty. Yon orthotic laddie (aged about 14 I reckon) told me to do the usual daily stuff wearing them for 2 - 4 hours of the time. I've been averaging two hours at least, I probably did too much on Thursday but balanced that by not doing very much on Friday. I have walked to the Co-op and back every day since getting them (as a means of using them and getting some exercise) but I think for today not doing very much will be the sensible option. I've been trying to help Mr DD shift stuff from the un-decorated room into the newly-decorated room andhave had to retire, 'hurt'. It's time to embrace the sofa whilst listening to him being very busy. :( DD

Sounds like a good idea to me DD. Both the resting from the torture, the shifting stuff and listening to Mr DD being busy.

Hi, I've got insoles, which the hospital measured and ordered for me.
When I went to have them fitted the feet guy (sorry, can't remember what they are called apart from the pod bit!) told me to start very slowly, only wearing them for half an hour a day for the first week and gradually increasing the time according to how I felt. This worked well for me and I wear them all day now, but the only thing is that I needed to buy shoes with wider fitting and a deeper deeper heel. Also some of the makes are better for me if I take the insole that they come with out, most makes will do this but, be carefull!!!

That's the experience I have and now I can't wear shoes without them very well. I hope this helps you and I hope that you will find the insoles helps, given time. I know we are all different and my experience might not be the same as yours, so if you can't get on with them maybe you can go and ask the person who fitted them for you? Good luck! Love Suexxx

I had some made which had lumps in the middle of my feet just below my toes. Really hurt and I couldn't use them. Maybe I should get them out again and persevere. Just couldn't walk with them after the first week. What are yours like?

They're half-length but that's enough to disturb matters. I admit that today I gave up: the Achilles tendon malarkey, the plentiful midge bites and the psoriasis have combined to make stuff irritating beyond measure. You know what? Dammit all to hell. DD

Ouch DD!!! They truly hurt don't they?? I have tried various insoles - those bought 'off the peg' and those dispensed from three different podiatrists. I couldn't get away with any of them. Just caused more problems - sigh - magnified the aches/pain and stiffness a thousand times - well maybe a slight exaggeration but it felt like that - he he. Arthritic feet do not make us feel good

Hope you are resting up our DD and having a peaceful evening....x

I managed a couple of hours or so in them yesterday but today I feel very rough. It's not only the pain, I also have that awful 'washed out' tiredness feeling, I am truly swimming through very-nearly-set concrete and I feel pants. I'm cancelling my last lesson so that I will be able to go to bed after lunch. Needs must. Damn disease. DD
