What a day. Last Night MIL had a stroke.

    Thank you. I've come home as there is not much I can do. She has moved from deteriorating to critical - she has a UTI and has also developed a chest infection. She is on oxygen and a number of drips, they have catheterised her, she has no idea anyone is there with her. She was taken down for another brain scan earlier, we're waiting on the results of that. They discovered and aneurysm on Saturday so I guess they are monitoring that. Her BP has dropped but is still high, her heart is varying between 85 and 100 beats per minute. Her breathing is difficult. I've said my goodbye and sincerely hope I will be able to 'unsay' it but I doubt it. DD

    Thank you all so much, I really appreciate the time you are taking to offer me support. They have moved her to a side room and withdrawn all the meds, the tubes, the bleeping and buzzing things and the oxygen. It's just a matter of time now - I very much doubt she'll be coming back from this. DD

    I'm so sorry to hear that your MIL is deteriorating, DD. She seemed to be doing so well, but I know from experience with my mother that things can change so quickly.
    My thoughts are with you and your husband.
