The hospital rang just after 1am. Mum died between two of their regular checks, they could not be sure of the time but somehow that feels immaterial. Mr DD spent at least ten hours with her yesterday, I only managed a couple but won't regret that it wasn't more. We did the classic English thing of having a cuppa then he set off for the hospital at 2am. He came home just before 4.

We're both tired but and not in a nice way. He is focussing on the practicalities, I don't know if I'm coming or going so I think I'll stay put. :| It's a lovely day and she died 26 days shy of her 92nd birthday. I am sad. DD

    Sympathy to you both.
    Best joke I ever read, "With that information and a diagnosis of spondylosis, your doctor can develop a treatment plan‏" or back in reality totally ignore you. Is ok I have a sense of humour and a boxing glove, not defeated yet.

    I'm so sorry to hear the news that Mr DD's mom passed away, 91yrs old is an amazing age. But I know age doesn't matter your still all hurting . I send my sympathy's and gentle ((HUGS)).

    i know you must be more than sad but you must remember the good times and remember you were there as much as you could manage being there longer would have made no difference just made you worse did she have a favorite plant if so put one in your garden then you can look at it and remember all the good times thinking f you ((())) val

    So sorry to hear your sad news DD. Thoughts and prayers with you and the family. At such a great age she must have had an amazing life with much to celebrate and be thankful for as you reminisce together. Be gentle with yourself, today is a day for reflection and thankfulness for all she was in your lives.

    Thank you so much everyone, you are all so kind. After experiencing the wonderful nursing care given to MIL we are now seeing the other side of the NHS, the beaurocratic, mind-numbing bumbling by administrators in the Bereavement Office. :roll: DD
