Thank you, each and every one, for your lovely posts. Life is feeling slightly less bewildering today as we adjust to the loss and focus on the admin. My lovely husband has gone to the Registrar for their bits of paper then he's going to the Co-op funeral directors to start those arrangements. We toddled off to the Plump Feline yesterday afternoon and my BIL joined us. We supped and reflected, had a laugh or two then it was time for a Chinese takeaway, our second this week. I'm cooking tonight though, we must get back into some sort of routine. Shame.
I appreciate all your kind thoughts and messages very much indeed. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
My dearest friend DD.. I'm so sorry for your loss hun. There are no words that can ease the pain but I'm leaving an abundance of Yorkshire Blokey Hugs for you from me and some slaverring purrs from the Great White Dope.

Hi DD, I'm pleased things are slightly less bewildering. There is such a lot to sort and organise isn't there?
My MIL passed away in her sleep, almost eleven months ago. I was quite close to her, but the hardest thing for me was seeing my husband and FIL so upset.
I'm still thinking of you,

I would just like to add my condolences to you both as well.

Once again, thank you all. We have a date for her cremation, October 18th and I am now sitting look at a brochure of flower arrangements - and reeling at the prices. I put the price list to one side, looked through, chose what I thought she would like (she loved carnations so they will feature) and then checked the price. £165. It's a double ended spray, a lovely design and 60" long, so yes, it's pretty big but that much? Of course we will choose something lovely (not just chuck some garage-bought flowers here and there) but honestly, I think that's a rip-off. I'm not denigrating the skill of the florists but I think that's an outrageous charge. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Alas, everything to do with funerals is a rip off because they know people won't quibble. If the brochure has come from the undertaker it might be worth enquiring at your local florist. Everyone takes a cut and that pushes prices up.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

That is a thought but then it may be easier to keep everything in house. I dunno, we'll think about it later. There's a rather stylish cricket bat, Sticky, yours for a mere £85. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
