Tony sent me a text asking me to let you know that he has had a helluva day, poor chap. His mum (who was widowed not so long ago) collapsed this morning - Tony managed to catch her, get her to the sofa and then ring an ambulance. He's been in A&E with her for most of the day but has had to return home 'cos he hurt himself with catching her. Apparently her BP plummeted, the cause may be related to the fact that she has been taking BP meds at too higher dose for some time. Janet is with her and they are hoping that she will be sent home soon. So, 2013 begins for his family where 2012 left off. Ye gods.

Tony mate, you are in my thoughts and I hope your Mum (and Janet!) come home soon. [[[]]] DD

    Oh Tony, that is a terrible thing to happen on top of everything else. You poor mum. I hope she is home soon and you all start to feel better soon.

    Oh poor Tony. Poor Tony's mum. As if they haven't been through enough. Hope you both recover quickly. Hope Janet looks after herself too.

    I hope both of you are now in recovery, Tony. I have a friend who was left on BP meds after she'd sorted her BP by diet and she, too, ended up collapsing. I am thinking of you.
    If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Poor Tony...as you say 2013 is starting much the same as 2012 finished.
    Praying for you mum Tony and for you and Janet as well. Hope you aren't too badly hurt

    Life, at times does seem to throw everything at us - we can only get though it as best we can.

    I haven't heard from Tony, apart from a text this morning to say that his mum was OK but he was hoping to get her in to see the GP today. He himself is not too good - probably the strain / shock to his body caused by catching her. I'm sure he'll pop in as soon as he can and update us all.

    I've been trying to sleep through the pain, I'm just glad I have some diazapam for occasions like this.
    I'm still in a lot of pain but it doesn't matter, I would do the same again n again.
    Mum is fine now. She has been on meds for high blood pressure for years now. She has stopped two of the three and I think that's done the trick.
    I was so bloody worried when it happened. She was out for about a minute. My first thought was it was her diabetes.

    Right, I'm gonna have another quick snooze.
