Sorry in advance for the moan but my left hip...{the one that hasnt been replaced} is really giving me gyp now.....its been really sore for about 2 weeks now.
Real pain....not just an ache. It also keeps giving way.
I dont really want another THR although when the first one was done the ortho said the second wone would be done in about 4 to 6 months. :o
Then {a bit like Barbara} they decided it might be my back...and have been "faffing" on with that for a few years now....There is no cure {a bit like arthritis} just management.
I'm really sore now and cant get comfortable. Cant get any sleep....not that I got much beforehand anyway.
I think thats it......sorry but it does help to have a good moan
Love

First of all - you don't need to appologise for "moaning" here!
Second of all I am sorry to hear you are having such a bad time. I had been hoping that all your treatments might have been helping you. It is so annoying that they can't decide what is causing what. ((()))

You are right, it really helps to have a moan! I find it sorts out all the mess in my brain and somehow makes it easier to cope with once I have typed it out. Sometimes I can't see the wood for the trees in my head!!

    again, ((()))

Do not dare to apologise for letting us know how though things currently are. You have been under the cosh for some time now and no wonder this latest development is too much to handle. I'm so sorry, I dread my hips going because I cannot begin to imagine how difficult life can be when they are no longer as they should be.

Why are you so sure not to have another op? I guess I probably should remember but I don't - - and I apologise, maybe it's because the first one didn't go so well? If it's an option this one could be better but hey, what do I know? I've always taken the view that surgery is designed to help and, so far for me at least, it nearly always has.

Right, having been of not much help I shall now wander off to irritate someone else. I am thinking of you, very much. Take care my lovely. (((())) DD

Hileena dont you dare appologise..I know you have been in pain for a while now...and boy do I know what you are talking about....I do think like you that they faff about.....not sure if you do.. but I keep doing my homework on the net to see how back pain differ from the hip one...
I do wish I could help more but at the very least you know we understand...I would say rest ...but even that makes matters worse......sending you lots of gentle hugs ((((()))) xx
PS I have my back injections on Monday...if they dont work then it will be my first THR... I will let you know..
    Take care xx

You can't apologise for moaning! You are the least moany person and given that amount of pain and problems you shouldn't be. I have nothing very useful to add but I'm sending you big hugs and wishes for restful nights. LV xx

We are the sounding board here for moans, besides its swings and roundabouts, before you know it loads of us will be posting similar...Besides your'e not moaning for no reason girl, you got pain and have had it for a while, you dont want another operation but probably know deep down inside you need one...
Life aint easy and sometimes these things test us a lot but if you sound off on here, well its not a bad option to have is it?

    Chin up!!

Oh Hileena, that sounds horrid! I can't offer any advice, but like the others, I'm here to "listen".
I truly hope things improve for you very soon.

    Hi Everyone,
You are right about it sorting out the mess in your brain a bit

DD.....You're right....its 3 years {in a couple of weeks time} since I had te first one done and my mobility is worse since I had it done. I'm a bit wary about having the other one done. You've heard a lot of us moaning about 6 weeks recovery/90 degree angle/sleeping on your back etc....not looking forward to that. I'm not seeing the ortho that did my hip, just the one thats looking at my back  Got acupuncture going again and the next thing is a pain clinic appt on the 23rd. He has nothing to do with hips so I suppose I would have to get in touch with the other one.

Barbara....I know you are in much the same position....getting messed about..is it referred pain or not....what is the injection that you hare having?

    LV ...thanks for the hugs.

Elaine...you are right....I'm pretty sure I need the op but dont want it and the fact that I'm not seeing that ortho {I would have to make an appt to see him} means that I'm more likely to keep putting it off :?

Numpty...thanks for your hugs as well.

    Love

Poor you , know how you feel. Does the cold weather make it worse , its been so cold lately ?
Everything always seems so much worse when not slppeing properly & in pain, its exhausting.
Its so good to be able to share on here , so dont think you are moaning at all, we all have our moments.
Im really fed up at the moment too , pain awful in back & other hip , although my xrays mri only showed OA in hip & bulge in lower disc , pain is dredful, cant sleep or do much at all really. My new hip, which I had in July is doing well , a bit sore , but really thought I would be so much better than I am after having it done. Im sure the rest has got worse, or could they of missed something ? Mine sounds so similar to yours.
I want my life back. Im too young to be like this & finding life so hard. Friends dont understand & feel so isolated. Fed up with GP & hospitals too !!

It does help to come on the forum.
Hope you get some help/relief soon Hileena.
    xx Yvonne

Hileena, I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain. You would think there would be something out there to help you. As you know I had my left hip done nearly two years ago now. And already have arthur in the right one.

ever apologise for a moan, you have every right to have a moan. Pain is always so draining as well.

I had accupuncture after my op, and I must adit it did nothing really for me. From the way you worded you post, your's did work. I hope that does bring some relief for you. And I hope they can decide where pain is to get you on some really good medication.

Hileena, I'm another who's going to b*ll*ck you for daring to apologise. I can't remember you 'having a moan', only dealing with other people's. You are well in credit on the moan front so please let rip if it helps.

I'm afraid I've no advice. I'm sitting here with two lovely THRs but very little back pain so I've no complications there. I think, in your situation, I'd be wanting to see the hip ortho again and at least get an opinion. But I'm sure that, having had all the back trouble you've had, that will seem a less inviting prospect to you. On the other hand, if you hip and back people could get together....that would help. That's how I got my knee revision - went to the 'foot' man with ankle pain but the trouble was all in my TKR so he handed me over.

Whatever you decide, or don't decide, I hope you can get some pain relief. ((()))

    Oh Hileena,

I really feel for you, its terrible what we have to endure. Really hope they get on top of this and deal with pain issues, nothing worse than chronic pain. Everone is entitled to a moan, its part of the territory with this as we all get tired, frustrated and annoyed, even if its just with ourselves.

Hi Hileena. Sorry to hear you are having such a bad time. Don't worry about having a moan, we all do it occasionally and putting it down in writing does help a bit. Friends and relatives may try to understand but they don't really, because unless you are suffering yourself - like we all do - then it is impossible for them to really know what it is like.

Do hope your pain eases off soon. I'm having a bad time at present too so know what it's like. Take care. ((())) Beryl

    Hi Sticky
I'm glad to hear you are well...not much pain at all.
I suppose all I have to do is give the hip consultant a ring {his secretary} and I could get an appt. Kristen....my physio said I shoud get in touch with him again about the hip
I'm chicken  I suppose if I had an appt that would be different but me ringing and making one....well its so easy to dodge out of it

    Hi Hileena
I am pleased that you feel a bit better today x
But it is still probably a good idea to make that call! Even if only to get your hip reassessed, and then you can make a decision about the next step. I am waiting for MRI results of my spine and right hip/pelvis as like you they are unsure if all the pain is from the hip. I feel I get pain in groin from hip and in back and down legs from lumbar spine.
I hope you have a good night x

    Hi NB
    Thanks
Hope your MRI' come back with something conclusive.
My pain is the left side of my groin. Down the front and back of my leg.
Just as far as my knee.....Its not a sciatica type of pain
