Wise not to venture out, Hileena. It is lovely - from the car - but very cold. I hope things aren't quite so bad today.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thanks Sticky
I'm not as bad today. Just the normal ......worse because its so cold.
I'm missing amy 2nd acupuncture appt because of the weather.

Hi
Not sure if I mentioned that the doc put me on codeine 4 x day {15mg}
This was a week ago today. I have had codeine to take if I needed it. That means that I rearely took it
So been taking it as she prescribed for a week now. The pain is better now.
The only thing is I feel "dopey" {more so than usual} headachey and a bit nauseaus a lot of days.
I was speaking to her on the phone today and she said that they could cause those problems {most of them can..... I think!!} Stick it out for a little while and it should ease off and if not well nthey will just accept I cant take codeine. If the pain eases off take fewer tablets.
I also said about the usual problem with codeine.....normally prune juice works for me but not on 4 a day. So she is leaving a prescription at the reception desk for Movicol. Goodness knows when I'll get that....we cant get out of the street. :roll: because of the snow.
Thats the latest

Hi Elaine
I'm afraid I'm not as good at eating fruit as that :oops:
I'll try taking it with food.
Did you find that it wore off as you got used to them?

'Blocked drains' are one of the downsides of codeine, Hileena (as is the nausea). The Movicol should help the former, they're sachets which you mix with a little water to make a fizzy drink - my GP gave me Docusate caplets, I find swallowing just two a day is enough to help me along. Good luck, I hope you can find the right balance of codeine to help. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Taking meds with food can make a big difference to how the stomach copes. It doesn't have to be a lot of food. One plain biscuit will do the trick.
If you're not big on fruit, Hileena, how about veg? A stick of celery? Raw carrot? Frozen broad beans are my favourite way of cooling down in summer. Or, of course, the old standby - prunes, figs etc.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Well Hileena!
I am so sorry you have been suffering so much recently and that I haven't seen this until today :oops:
Have you made that call yet??
I hope you can have your acupuncure this week at least.
Maybe l should borrow Cris' (skezier's) bellows and blow the snow away for you?

As sticky has said it doesn't have to be a lot of food, a biscuit or maybe a couple of sweets....I just like my fruit and veg but still bunged up...I do suffer from IBS though so it's stopping me having the screaming habdabs!...
I find that when i take my evening ones I feel a bit dopey after my dinner, for instance could have slept at 8pm tonight but now im as bright as a button...Do have another dose before bed but haven't slept too well the last 4 or 5 nights, sometimes codeine can make me more awake...Only been on them for about a week now and had them upon discharge too..

Hi
I'll try and eat more fruit {mam}
The weather is just as bad here as it was yesterday but Peter is insisting we go for my Eye appointment at the hospital so I'll collect the prescription when we are out. It should work as you say DD
Toni...you borrow Cris's bellows. How is she at the moment.?
I would think I'll manage my acupuncture this week.
Elaine...so you are just trying them as well???
I'm taking 3 now....one in the morning, one halfway hrough the day and one at bedtime.
I dont sleep well any night so it doesnt make any difference :roll:
